Wolfkop Nature Reserve
Reviewed July 21, 2012

We had a lovely family time at the Boegoe house in June. The outside warm jacuzzi was ideal to be warm while enjoying the blue sky full of stars at night or when it was pouring rain outside. Highly recommended and we hope to spend other holidays there again. I don't want to say much because I think this is a place to discover, get surprise and enjoy. If do you visit this wonderful place which sink you in the quietness of nature, don't miss to eat or have a coffee at the Grapevine coffee shop in town.

We recently stayed in Hartpuishuis at Wolfkop. The unit was not on standard at all. I will not recommend anyone to stay at Hartpuisbhuis! Hope the other units are in a better condition!!

Dear Tk,

Thanks so much for your review. I believe we did correspond to your personal mail to me with regards to the problems regarding the leaking shower floor which have been fixed. I had the TGCSA in and the reviewer told us we are definitely 3 star, but he did point out minor things that we need to fix like for instance the repair area at the shower that you also mentioned. It was difficult for us to fix it at the moment as the tiles are no long available so we would have to redo the whole shower

Please visit us again for a free nights accommodation to see how Harpuis house is up to standard as the other units are also.

Kind Regards,

Werner

We stayed here in July last year and loved it. All the appliances were brand new, the coffee grinder scored them a few brownie points and the free jacuzzi with views was def a highlight. It is private, child-friendly (even though we don't have kids), nice beds and bedding.
I've stayed in other places in the area and this is def the best in that price class - especially if you are after a jacuzzi!
Will definitely go back and have recommended it ever since.

We stayed at Wolfkop during April 2011. Although this setting is quite beautiful, the quality is totally lacking a 3 star rating. Most disgustingly the bed linen was not changed from the previous occupents!! Light fittings loose, bathroom dirty - I can go on... Yes - after some discussion they agreed the linen was not clean and brought clean linen. I also complained at the Tourism Grading Council_: the rating was not up to date - but yet the owner continued to advertise that he had a 3-star rating... I would advise potential visitors to be carefull...

Hi Johan,

Thank you for your comment on Trip advisor. We have taken this review very serious as we have a totally new management at Wolfkop since you last visited after this complaint and 2010 complaint that the manager just did not get up to standard. I do not know what happened to the linen as there is a control system that logs the linen. With regards to the star grading we did contact TGCSA who's responsibility it is to send out the grader with the invoice - we never heard from them again, but i have 5 other owner management properties that are also graded so it was not on our side.

Please visit us again for a free nights accommodation so you can see how we have improved.

Kind Regards,

We have never been camping before and thus have no camping gear. Wolfkop Camping Village was the perfect solution for our first camping experience. It's located on an orange farm and the tents are along the river. When you arrive your sleeping tents (each sleeps 2 people) is set up underneath a Bedouin freeform marquee along with everything you need for your stay. There were blow-up mattresses with pillows and sleeping bags, towels, chairs for each person, a lounger, two cooler boxes, eating utensils, braai utensils, two-plate stove, tea, coffee and sugar, amongst other things. The communal kitchen was useful since it had fridges in which you could store your food as well as an ice maker. The campsite is grassed and very spacious so kids can play and not disturb the neighbours. We also hired a canoe for the weekend which was great fun. The only downside was that we never met any of the management staff during our stay. One of the items that they stipulate they supply as well is toilet paper. After the first day there was no toilet paper in the communal toilets and sms's and phone calls to management were ignored. Luckily we had tissues!! If it had not been for the lack of management, I would've scored this place 5 stars.

The value of this place is phenomenal. The jacuzzi is fresh and clean and the chalet is beautiful. It is nice and private and you get left to your own devices.

My only moan is the DSTV. This is the THIRD time I have been to a place that has promised satellite TV and doesn't deliver. It seems to be becoming the new fake drawcard that no one can really complain about. This one DOES actually provide the DSTV, but it often didn't work (according to their booklet). There were instructions about what to do if it doesn't work, but the error was about a 'marriage conflict' with the other simcard or whatnot, nothing we could do about that. The jacuzzi experience eclipsed this problem of course, so I would recommend this place, you can't go wrong! (unless you're planning to watch sport...)

On the plus side our chalet was large and spacious with spectacular views and not a soul to be seen or heard for days. It was neat and the linen was clean and plush. The only time we saw a member of staff was when she came to collect the balance of payment. The downside was that we struggled to switch on the DSTV, couldnt get the aircons to blow warm air, had to look for the hammock in the garage, and the electricity ran out halfway through our 3 night stay which switched off the jacuzzi!! The crockery and cutlery also had to be re-washed before we could use it. I would like to recommend that the management take a little more interest in what is potentially a wonderful place to get away for a few days.

Hi Helen,

Thanks so much for this review. We have definitely focused on these points and love it that you mention that you did not see workers or people while you visited as that is exactly what we try for your guests. The Electricity problem i have spoken to Bernice about and she knows she should not allow it to run out. Crockery is totally unacceptable and i have made a note in our control system.

Please do visit us again so you can see the improvements at Wolfkop

Kind Regards,

Werner Rontgen
