Staying in the Ger Camp gives you the true Mongolia experience. It is the perfect balance between really getting the experience and having enough amenities to make you comfortable. They got all the important things, bathrooms, showers, wifi, fresh cooked breakfast, laundry, etc. They also have the ability to host larger groups here. The Ger Camp restaurant, which they serve breakfast out of can accommodate a good group size. The people that operate it will truly take care of you and are really good people. And of course if you are using the tour group, West Mongolia Travel, to go on tours then it is the perfect base camp. Even if you aren't use them for tours, they can help with anything.
I enjoyed my time there so much, I ended up staying there for most of a week after only really having plans for one night. I highly recommend it.
Truly, don't travel all the way to distant Western Mongolia only stay in a hotel. You might as well be going to a big city and sleep in a tent. Also, I think you will find that Olgii hotels are quite limited.

The place was overbooked, more than a dozen travelers with confirmed bookings had to sleep at family houses whilst full high rate was charged. The families were very nice though. Also 3 USD/night was added for WiFi which did not work. Dinner was 10 USD for a simple cup of soup and some dumplings, which would cost 3 USD max in town. Ger did get heated in the evening, but not in the morning. Showers only had cold water. As the staff was very friendly and accommodating, I still give 2 stars, but this place is way too expensive, it’s a tourist trap, a complete rip-off.
