Mediocre at best

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 4, 2019via mobile
Good points
-I enjoyed the dinner. They could meet my vegetarian requirements, the meal was reasonably tasty and the portion size just right. The pre-packaged icecream on a stick for the dessert was a fun touch!
-Location

Bad points
-really poor build quality of the building and the rooms (although this is typical for Mongolia) including electrical. Don't even get me started on the decor.
-have to pay for coffee at breakfast, they won't even provide instant coffee
-have to pay for cold water in the restaurant (ie buy bottled water) even though hot water is complimentary
-overpriced room and drinks by Mongolian standards

See this place as simply somewhere to crash for the night, that's about it.

We stopped at 50 100 on he way out of town. I agree with other reviewers in that the lunch crowd is typically travelers off the daily flights then heading up towards the lake. The hotel caters to the larger groups so it may take a few to place an order. However, I found the meals good compared to other Mongolian restaurants. After out 10 day trek our first night back we stayed at 50 100. The rooms were clean and the shower appreciated. Be aware the beds are a little stiff compared to western standards however these are better than many Mongolian Hotels (not be be compared with a national chain). Staff provided standard level of service with the breakfast buffet being an easy transition in the morning. Not sure if 50 100 is the best hotel in town however suited our needs on arrival and departure from North Central Mongolia.

Stayed here while visiting my daughter who is volunteering in Mongolia. We stopped over at the 50 100 for a night on our way up to the lake. She selected this hotel because it was suppose to be the nicest in town even though the reviews were mixed. The hotel was fine (USA motel 6 standard). The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable but the lines were clean. The room was also clean (minus some moldy caulk in the shower). Hot water and pressure in the shower was great (available from 7pm to 10pm) but the bathroom door wouldn’t close. The location was very convenient however there was street/bar noise both in the evening and early morning. On the positive side the WiFi worked great and the restaurant food was good. Overall the hotel was acceptable ( minus the hard bed and bathroom door) but gets a two star review based on the cost vs quality ratio. You could get a better value at a guest house.

This hotel is not bad, but for $80 a night, you're better off going somewhere else. The staff was friendly, but not particularly accommodating. There were many off details in the room, but the most indicative was the fact that there weren't enough batteries for the remotes. I could talk about the paltry soap and the fluctuating shower temperature, but it's Mongolia. These things happen. The wi-fi is unrelialbe, for you traveling workers. For the price, you would probably be better off staying in a guest house if you speak a little Mongolian.

On the main crossroads, it is fairly simple but reasonably attired. Comfortable bed, decent shower. It has a serviceable restaurant, with solid Mongol fare - dumplings, various meats, etcetera. Within walking distance of everything worth seeing.

We stayed at this hotel as part of our group tour to Mongolia.

A big and spacious room that was very old and out dated, carpet looked dirty, one half of the shower door was missing so water splashed out onto tiles making it slippery, no fan or aircon, no flywire screens to stop blow flies etc from entering the room, no lift so you had to carry your bags up several flights of stairs. Had a fully stocked refrigerator BUT it did not work!

The room had a kettle but no cups or tea/coffee! The bathroom basin had a fixed plug that leaked, therefore impossible to keep water in the basin. Breakfast was adequate.

        Is located opposite a supermarket.
