I had a small cheeseburger and a lamb burger. The meat was of a high standard in both but everything else was industrial and of poor quality - the bun and especially the fries! Prices of a gourmet burger with the quality of fast food level in spite of the great meat. It would best to request a meat dish with no bun or fries.

I don't really get this place. I mean it's like many other places in Brazil I think. they really think that they are more than they are.

Outside the restaurant, it says "Madero - The best burger in the world".

Ok, that's a pretty bold statement. Especially when the burger is just mediocre.

I'm from Copenhagen in Denmark, gourmet burgers are booming here. And they are good!!! Everything is homemade, the bun, the ketchup, the pickles, AND THE FRENCH FRIES.

Only thing here that tasted like home made, was the burger it self. Good meat, for sure. But it's just so easy!! I mean Why aren't they making their own buns, own ketchup and own french fries?? why does everything have to be industrialized products that you can buy in the supermarket?? It might not even by pricier for them to make, but the quality would just be 100 times better.

Show some creativity, especially if you want to call your burger "the best in the world"..!!!

Would I go back? Most likely I will yes, because of the fact that even though it gets NO WHERE NEAR a good burger that you would get in the states or in Europe, it's still the best option in town. for 35 reais/18 dollars, I would get an extremely good burger in either my home country, or any city in USA.

They might not step it up, most likely not, because there is a huge lack of competition in any middle to small size Brazilian cities.

Madero if you see this, contact me please and I will show you how to make your own french fries, made out of fresh potatoes. It's easy and taste 10000 times better!

It's unique because the food is not in the city's regular level, really worth a try if you're in town. The place itself is a little different too, not that bright and more cozy.
