Her cities are becoming ever more sophisticated and cosmopolitan, and discerning diners are demanding the finest food from across the country. Regional dishes with traditional ingredients, fresh herbs and spices are playing a great part in today’s Indian kitchen. Chef -patron Manoj Vasaikar understands this mix of traditional and contemporary values. I was really impressed with the ambience and the food! Also the service guys were really welcoming and positive in any way. The moment you come inside you feel like you are not in London any more. It felt magic and sensational. And the food was orgasmic!!!

The restaurant claims to be influenced by Bombay & unfortunately this was nothing like bombay food. Semi cold starters with cold plates, all chicken dishes over cooked and the lamb cooked separately from its curry.

Very glossy atmosphere but the food fails to impress.

For the kind of restaurant it is and price they charge, the service was horrible. Not rude but unenthusiastic staff with no attention to detail.

Have now eaten for the third time at Zest and it continues to impress. The scallops were extremely good, prepared with a densely flavoured sauce but of sufficient delicacy not to over-dominate. My wife's jumbo prawns with aubergine were not quite at the same level, but were certainly better than average.
Main courses were a little more pedestrian, but still prepared to a high standard - I had the chicken malabar and my wife took a fish curry. No danger of soggy naan bread or under-cooked rice.
I usually steer clear of Indian desserts but their take on apple & fig crumble was served with a sublime ice cream - quantity on the 'nouveau' side, but flavour certainly in abundance.
It's not inexpensive, but better have a fulfilling meal and pay a little more than a mediocre meal and feel cheated.

Have been here a few times now, and always a good experience. The place is thoughfully decorated, and an interesting layout with lots of nooks and crannies... so you get a nice ambience, and not a feeling of a large 'open room'. Conveniently, there is also a large pay-and-display car park next door.
On this latest occasion....
When my wife called to book just an hour beforehand, she remarked that they were very friendly and helpful on the phone - even saying that they would find us a nice table upstairs.. despite it being a busy Saturday night.
Upon arrival, all the staff were smiling and welcoming. Downstairs was very full, but not loud and rowdy. We were indeed shown upstairs to a more intimate area, with us being the first ones to be seated there that evening. Despite this being a small area, we still had our own dedicated barman and waiter.
Menu is definitely not the standard 'curry-house' fare, but very interesting and different. Yes it is a little bit more expensive, but that is in line with the quality of the food and the surroundings.
You will not be disappointed with the menu or the quality of the food, All in all a very good dining experience, and definitely the best Indian restaurant in the immediate vicinity. Service was impeccable and always friendly.
We are Indians, and my wife has a very discerning palate when it comes to Indian food, as she is a very very good cook. The bench mark for me is that she had no complaints at all, and left with a big smile on her face !
My only complaint is the toilets - whilst not awful, they really need a facelift. It just lets the whole experience down a bit.

Been here twice and it's not worth the extra money in my opinion. There is a lot of competition on this road as there is 3 Indian restaurants. I've tried this twice and wish I'd have stuck with the Shahin down the road. It's not bad, it's just not THAT good. It more expensive and has half the atmosphere. The menu is different to most other Indians which is nice but I've been disappointed. One of the mains I tried was very peppery and raw tasting. Service isn't bad but not what I'd call 'friendly'
