Nice old pub, plenty of parking, good beer and food, nice sunny garden at the back. Attentive staff.

Called in on spec one Sunday evening, we were staying locally. Our host said there would be a short wait before taking our order, which wasn't an issue as we had a drink outside. Order was taken within 1/2 hour, and the lovely food brought promptly . Service was very friendly and our host very chatty. Would deferentially go again, next time we stay down there.

A real country Inn, it is cosy and traditional with the accommodation situated in a separate building beside the pub. The King Suite we had chosen was a pleasant, modern airy room, clean and with good facilities. Having booked three nights Mon - Thurs for the beginning of July, we received a call from the Inn a day or so later to ask whether we required to book evening meals which was advised. The service we received from Neil, Gill and their staff was friendly and helpful and the food was superb with lots of home grown and locally sourced produce for both breakfast and evening meals. This Inn was busy on all three nights we ate (definitely need to book) and we even took the opportunity to enjoy the Monday night quiz with the locals. This is small establishment working incredibly hard to ensure that whether you stay overnight or just come to eat you will be assured of a warm welcome and First class food.

Would love to return again in the future.

Very disappointing meal and when we had a problem it was dealt with in a very off hand way live locally and there are plenty of other excellent places to eat - not one I will be retunring too.

We have been visiting this public house in Suffolk ever since the current owners (Neil and Gill Mason) took it over several years ago. Whilst they have retained the village pub character in the main bar, they have turned the dining area into a real eating experience. Book one of the tables on the balcony overlooking the bar to enjoy a great ambience. For quieter dining choose the restaurant area.
It would be wrong to pick out any particular dish because the menu changes daily based upon available ingredients. However, choose any meat based dish and you will not be disappointed. The vegetables and herbs are all grown in their own garden and freshly picked/harvested. Good choice of wines at a sensible price range.
They have some excellent B & B accommodation on site and the breakfasts are fantastic. All fresh local produce is used to provide the best possible full flavours - the bacon in particular is spectacular.
A bit off the beaten track but worth the effort. We make a 50 mile round trip to eat there!
