Very good and clean room, good bed. open air bathroom, and very nice garden.
People are very nice and helpful. One thing to improve is the breakfast. We had a cottage so the best of the hotel and yes it was great. Easy to find a mikro to go everywhere in the town, or by feet it's ok too.

This hotel is in pretty garden setting, a few km out of town. You can easily get a minibus in and out of town but need to know where to get it from (ask reception). When arriving from Manado by bus, you can get off before the centre-if you have the Lonely Planet, follow their instructions for getting to Volcano Resort, as it's opposite.
The room was clean with a comfortable bed but smelt a bit of stale smoke. There was a basic bathroom with squat toilet and cold water-as others have mentioned you can book a western style toilet but it's quite a lot more expensive. There's no insect covers over the small windows in the bathroom so a big wasp flew in at one point!
The website advertises a restaurant but they didn't serve dinner. Apparently the hotel can order take away for you.
They have friendly, helpful staff and the wifi in the bedrooms is good.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the standard room next to the stairs. 200thou rupiah a night for a surprisingly comfy spring bed (it seems relatively new) and a squat toilet (practically that's it). The standard room was tiny and there was no hot water, but it was quite clean and if you open the door and window for a few hours you'll get the highland fresh air in your room.

You can get proper toilet and hot water in the superior room for 400thou, but it's still a tiny room.

The best part of this hotel was the nice big garden. After coming back from Mt Lokon, we bought lunch and had a picnic on the grass, followed by napping on the hammocks. Very relaxing.

We stayed four nights in a 'superior' room, mostly because the squat toilets in the standard rooms were a deal-breaker for my wife. To be more clear, every room that we saw felt very modern, standard and superior alike, and if you don't have strong feelings about how you do your business then you'll probably be happy in either one. The hotel was renovated relatively recently and the shine is still on it. The breakfast is not amazing but definitely does the job. You can order delivery from the Green Garden restaurant that's nearby, a rare feature for equivalent places we've stayed elsewhere in SE Asia. Along with the generally quiet and relaxed atmosphere, the standout aspect of this place is definitely the staff. The manager is very, very friendly and happy to chat, and is a good resource for information about the town.

We enjoyed our time here and would recommend it.

We were staying at the Happy Flower for 2 nights. We came directly from Manado / Bunaken.
The breakfast was fine, toast, jam, eggs etc. Sulawesi average level.

The offered transport back to Manado seemed to be a rip-off. The receptionist Celina, a young friendly woman was trying to fullfil every wish we had and was really a great help in finding a accomodation for our next destination. What treated our negative attention was the way Celina was treated by her supevisor/boss Mrs. Fiona. We were only guests so we couldnt intervene, but we really felt bad for her since she was such a friendly person.

The room was equipped with a "sulawesi-like" french squatter toilet which we really disliked. The price was quite high, however it was ok. for high season.

We will definitely come back to Sulawesi and try to climb the volcano next time in Tomohon, hoping to see happy Celina again :)

We stayed here for 5 nights. 3 nights in the Standard room, 2 in the guesthouse. Location is good, you're right on the road to Lokon, about 1.5 hours walk from your room door to the crater. Relaxing atmosphere and Fiona will give you all the information you ask for. Breakfast is not great but ok, eggs, toast with chocolate, jam etc. If you ask for food in the evening though it is very good. I wanted to try the bat but there were no restaurants nearby making it so we asked in the morning and Fiona and the staff made it for us in the evning. Really worth it (75000 for a 2 person portion)! About the rooms, the standard room is basic but fine, not airco but you don't need that in the mountains, squating toilet the water of which can be a bit smelly but this is usually the case with these things. The guesthouse is more spacy and slightly more luxurious (normal toilet and a shower), however in the standard room you hear the crickets and frogs the whole night whereas in the guesthouse you have a good chance that you hear the other guests because of the location. So I personally would not spend the extra money on this room.

Room Tip: standard rooms are basic but quiet, guesthouse is less basic but can be noisy.
