I really enjoyed staying at Junia. It is good value (the 60.000 room is nice and clean) The guy that worked there (I don't kno how to spell his name Daddikul?) was really nice. The owner wasn't there but he did great on his own!
The food is delicious.

Room Tip: try the vegetable Sanur with rice. Great!

This small guesthouse (only a few rooms) is a perfect place to stay in Bukit Lawang. And great value for money!
They offer two types of rooms, a more or less basic room for 60,000 Rupiah and a bigger one for 90,000 Rupiah. We stayed in both and the basic room is fine, it's small but okay. The bigger one has more space in the room itself and the bathroom as well. The rooms are clean and have a porch in front with of course a hammock. Very relaxed.
The restaurant serves good food and is a really nice place to hang around and drink a Bintang.
The staff is friendly and funny, with a lot of energy.
Apparently Junia is marked as favorite in a German travel guide, so expect a lot of Germans there.

Junia's is gorgeous and so relaxing to stay at across the river from the main street of Bukit Lawang. Cheaper rooms for much better quality than much of the competition. Delicious food and a nice atmosphere to have a juice or a beer near the Bohorok River before or after trekking. Anang and his staff are friendly and want to make sure you enjoy your vacation/traveling. Occasionally, Junia's has live music in the evenings. Great place for couples to stay. This is a new GH, the rooms are large and nicely decorated with bathroom, but cold water and bucket flush for the toilet - which is quit common in BL. The mattress is good and they provide moskito net. The rooms are between 60.000 and 100.000 and for me, they are much nicer and much cheaper than Eco Lodge or Wisma Leuser at the red bridge for the money you pay. They only have 4 rooms, so book ahead.
Their restaurant is also excellent. They cook everything fresh, prices are comparable, so there was no sense to go anywhere else. See the picture of the jumbo fruit platter, it was 25.000 and feeds two easily. We stayed 4 nights and would stay definitely again.
