“Fabulous stay”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

RoseMarie and Joel were perfect hosts, very welcoming and full of helpful advice on local attractions and restaurants. Our room was huge with a wonderfully comfortable king sized bed. The stone manor had been lovingly restored, and they were rightfully proud of its history. The gardens were lovely and it was very quiet, but close to town for shops and restaurants. RoseMarie's breakfasts were a wonder, with lots of home made treats. Every morning she could be seen wandering around her garden picking fresh flowers for the table. What a delight. It was a perfect place from which to explore the local attractions. We stayed three nights and were genuinely sad to leave. We hope to return in the not too distant future. Keith and Glenda from Australia.

Superbly restored, beautiful manor house (small "castle") with lovely owners, highly recommended!

I found Manoir de la Branche on Trip Advisor when looking for accommodation near Mont-St-Michel. The good reviews can really be trusted! We were planning to stay one night but decided to stay for another night when we discovered what a lovely place this was. The owners, Anne-Marie and Joel, are exceptionally hospitable, the 15th-century building is beautifully restored, the room lovely and the setting convenient for travels both in nearby Normandy and Bretagne, why wouldn't we have stayed?

The minute we arrived we were offered a welcome drink of local cider (very nice!) in the beautiful dining hall / breakfast room. It was a Sunday so the owners were eager to be certain that we would get something good to eat in a nice place (they even e-mailed us before our travels about dinner reservations, but since we weren't sure of our travel route, yet, we didn't make reservations then). They recommended a few places and when we had made our choice, they even phoned and made reservations for us - and we got a special treat at the lovely restaurant.

The lady of the house speaks several languages and with my little French I could also talk with the gentleman of the house - both were lovely people! They even went to the trouble of planning a day trip to us (to the places we wanted to see and more) and the last morning to checking and writing down our route to the airport and more. They were so amicable and nice that it felt like visiting a friend - in the most positive sense of the word.

The restoration and decoration of the house has been done beautifully. The furniture and attention to detail is amazing. There are modern amenities, a very nice shower and bathroom, as well. We stayed in the Marquis room, which was very spacious and tastefully decorated. There was no tv, but that really didn't matter at all.

The breakfast was beautifully laid out and tasty. Home-made jams, fresh fruit, croissants, bread and buns. On everyone's place there was a small bunch of fresh flowers, lovely!

And Le Mont-St-Michel was conveniently close, 25 kilometres from the B&B. A tip to anyone travelling in July or August: The Abbey has special evening/night treats for anyone visiting in the evening between 7 p.m. and midnight (not on Sundays). There is live music in the various rooms of the abbey and in the church (harpsichord, violin, flute), candles, installations etc. Such a special experience that we almost couldn't leave the place...

Our second day we spent on the banks of the River Rance, in Saint-Malo, Dinan, Dinard... Beautiful places and not too far from the B&B.

On the whole, the experience was so lovely that we can definitely recommend Manoir de la Branche - don´t miss it if you travel in the area!

We stayed in this manor for 1 night. It is located 30 mins away by car from Mont Saint Michel. After visiting the famous monument, along picturesque country roads, we had enjoyed cherry blossoms and yellow colored colza farm.

Joel and RoseMarie, owners of this manor welcomed us with genial warmth. They are very cultivated and Rose Marie speaking several languages (English, French, Spanish, German etc). We can't find any moment that they treated us for business purpose. I felt more likely staying at my friends or at cousins. They also served us with welcome drink - famous cider!

We stayed in the Chambre Jardin which allowed us to wake up gently with birds singing. Breakfast had been prepared with a lot of care. Good quality morning breads, Madeleine and baguettes etc. I highly recommend you to taste their homemade jams!

The manor located near Mont Saint Michel and the city named Fougere. We didn't have enough time to walk around the city but just had dinner. However it seems that the city is very ancient and cute.

If you want a small but friendly and convivial, this is a place for you. This is not a plush hotel but you can really discover charms of French country side. I will defintely visit them again.

What can I say other than I will never forget our stay at "Le Manoir de la Branche". The manoir itself is amazing. It has been sympathetically and tastefully restored by the owners who obviously love their home. No expense has been spared. The quality of the restoration is exceptional. The rooms and decor are stunning. The owners can not do enough for you to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They are very pleasant, easy to talk to and have such interesting stories to tell. The madame is Swiss and speaks 5 languages fluently. One of which is English. Although I do speak a little french it's not always easy to express oneself so I found it very reassuring. Anything I didn't understand she was there to explain. I enjoyed our conversations.

When we came down to breakfast in the morning it was a feast for your eyes. Never have I seen such a table so beautifully dressed and such choice. I was expecting a simple croissant and some bread. I couldn't have been more wrong. The madame had picked strawberries that morning from her garden for each of their guests - beautifully presented. We had a choice of so many fresh breads, cakes and homemade jams. Simply delicious!

The special memory of our visit to the Manoir de la Branche will stay with me forever. If you are in the area you must stay at this Chambre d'hotes. You will not be disappointed!
