Good value from a Logis de France hotel. We had booked upgraded rooms (located in the new spa wing) and were very happy we did as the rooms were air conditioned. The day had been unusually hot and being spoiled Americans, we really enjoyed the A/C. The rooms also had a flat screen TV and upgraded beds and linens. One room was equipped for mobility impaired patrons. There is an elevator. The hotel restaurant was closed on Sunday but we were directed to a wonderful restaurant nearby. Breakfast was a typical French continental breakfast, but it did have some meat and cheese in addition to bread and pastries. Very quiet. In cooler weather, the standard hotel rooms would likely be pleasant as well.

Room Tip: If you are mobility impaired, the hotel does have a very pleasant room available.

We run our own B&B in Normandy so are often very picky about the places we stay in. I have no serious complaints about this hotel. I chose it after finding it on Tripadvisor and wasn't too sure how good it would be following previous reviews but it was in an ideal location for us to overnight enroute from Normandy to friends in the Black Forest.

Sometimes I don't think people take into account the price they are paying when reviewing hotels. This is a 2 star hotel with 2 star prices and for this money it was excellent. The room was a little old-fashioned but perfectly functional and very clean (which to me is the most important factor). The bathroom had been recently renewed but again was exceptionally clean and even provided complimentary soap, bathgel etc, rarely found in a 2star hotel.

The bar was charming, typical wooden chalet style of the area, with red checked tablecloths. As someone else has mentioned, grandma was serving behind the bar andjust gave the occasional scowling grunt but to be quite honest we found it all added to the character of the place - she didn't make us feel uncomfortable, in fact it set me off witht the giggles!

The restaurant was extremely good. It was absolutely packed, which gave it a great atmosphere and the service did not suffer, although it was busy. This was my first experience of spatzle and it was the best I tasted! I don't know where the miserable staff that some people have complained about were, they must have been on holiday because everyone we came across was friendly and helpful. The wines were reasonably priced too, which makes a pleasant change from some places that have a captive market.

The surrounding villages were absolutely charming and if I am in the area again I would definitely use this hotel as my stopover, or even a base for a short break.

Used this as a transit stopover driving from Italy back to UK. Attractive hotel buildings in a small farming village only 20 mins out of Strasbourg....picked from the Logis website. Room was excellent and spotless. Additional benefit of small swimming pool and gym etc if you are really keen !! Madame (front of house) very friendly.........Monsieur who does the cooking not so. Too busy drinking with his mates to pass the time of day with passing guests! Grandma behind the bar will grunt at you when you order your beer. Restaurant staff very efficient although slightly on the grumpy side. Restaurant was actually packed on a Thursday night nevertheless service good. Fancied nothing off the set menus so went off the carte. Food OK but not ever so special apart from the cheeseboard which was first class. About 85 euros for two for 3 courses with wine and coffee. Certainly go back there despite Le Patron and Grandma !!

We stopped here on our way to Rome. I had chosen this hotel because it was outside Strasbourg and not in a small town and because of the trip advisor reviews. I was not disappointed. The room was a reasonable size and the beds comfortable and the breakfast was perfect. The small town of Mittelhausen looked like a very well preserved medieval village, absolutely delightful. If we drive to Italy again we will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a small farming village and was a real surprise. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, and made our stay very comfortable. Rooms are spotlessly clean and the restuarant is worth a visit.

We found that the entire staff was extremely unfriendly (all but one person).
Breakfast wasn't up to much either, not even a piece of fruit.
Pay extra for everything, even if you haven't asked for it.
