Definitely pricey for what we received, but there aren't many options in Emeishan that will meet international standards.
The hard bed was the worse - even using China's standards. It was pretty much a box spring with covers over it, we could feel the springs underneath us. We were in a non-smoking room, but unfortunately smoke still seeped into our room in the middle of night from other guests who didn't follow the non-smoking policy. I understand smoking is everywhere in China, but expected some clean air when we are sleeping in our private room at least. Especially given the higher altitude of Emeishan.
The resort area is well-manicured, location conveniently located within walking distance to the tour bus center. The hotel itself though was nothing spectacular - standard decor, outdated rooms. They leave the front doors open, so the lobby (the only area you can get wifi internet) has mosquitoes everywhere. We also saw a giant bug (either a cockroach or grasshopper not sure). Horrible breakfast - not many options and what was there was old and crusty.
That being said, this is probably going to be one of only a few options available to foreign tourists.More
