We stayed here during our World Cup travel plans. We stayed in Buffalo (it's a family one that had 2 bunkbeds and 2 queen size beds, but separate mattresses. A total of 6 could stay in this Rondavel). The beds are soft enough for side sleepers and they have mosquito netting which is pretty cool although not really necessary in the winter here. The amenities: they had body lotion, shampoo/conditioner mixed, and shower gel along with bar soaps. I only used the shower gel and it was ok. The shower caps they provide are large enough to cover my whole head (which doesn't always happen). Breakfast is a simple European with eggs made to order. Dinner was yummy enough and they have a great bar drink with Amarula called Strawberry Lane.

We tried to book a Bush Braai for the evening the next day and that turned out to be a bit disastrous. If you wanted to book a safari with them, do so well in advance as I feel our last minute attempt failed. They also had their internet & phone lines down for much of one day. I think as long as you plan things well in advance, you would have no problems.

I stayed here with my 2 children and parents in their seventies. The roundels are wonderful, amongst tropical gardens, very private. Give the restaurant a miss though as my mother ordered the lamb shank and I kid you not it arrived almost raw. We sent it back for further cooking and it was still inedible. It was too expensive. We went on the river safari and the morning safari from the hotel, I wouldn't recommend them as they were just drivers and didn't know where to find the animals we would of been better off hiring a car and driving ourselves into the park. If you are after African styled huts close to Kruger with a great pool then this is for you.

Wow!
This lodge beats our expectations!
We had an heartly welcome with drinks and the receptionist took her time to help us out what our program was for the next days. We booked a river safari, afternoon safari and a full day safari. Which all where great. especially our guide for the full day safari, he finds in a few minutes time our first leopard. After that good start he find the rest of the big five for us. He was very enthusiastic and could tell a lot about the wildlife we encountered.

There is a great swimmingpool with a great bar. You could sit in the pool and order your drinks at the same time! Unfortunately there was not so much time to enjoy the pool because off our busy schedule.

Food in the restaurant and with breakfast was fabulous. Very friendly staff and the cutest trainees ever. For a friendly face and a smile the do everything for you. Food and drinks are not overpriced, and the cocktails are great.

We will return some day to the Sefapane Lodge.

We stayed at the new safari homes right next to Sefapane lodge. It is truly amazing how quickly we felt at home! The house is more then spacious (2 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a huge mezzanine with another 4 bed) and we had a pool at 50 metres distance so we could sit on our wonderful shady porch and still watch the kids swim. The house is fully equipped and the internet connection never down. Being 1 km. from the Kruger gate made us go in whenevr we felt like and we had a great experience visiting the Blyde River Canyon. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. I believe this is the only lodge who can organise a great outing to Mozambique. We went to the tented camp of Machampane which i a mere 3 hours drive. As we only had 10 days it was actually too short to see all that this place had to offer but we will certainly be back for more!

Last June I spend my adventurious holiday at Sefapane Lodge & Safaris, Phalaborwa, South Africa. It was an amazing experience! I booked a week-package, which offers you different kind of safaris, such as Riversafari (on a boat), Full-Day Safari, Morning and Sunset Walk, Nightsafari (with "braai" in the bush!) and 2 excursions to Tzaneen and Blyde Canyon River (magnificent!!). All with experienced guides, they tell you everything about the wildlife and surroundings of the Kruger NP. The Lodge itself is great! We stayed in a Deluxe Rondavel, with all the necissities. The room was very clean and the NEW beds were very confortable. Sefapane has a great swimmingpool with bar en restaurant, where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were all very friendly.

There was absolutely nothing bad to say about Sefapane. It was a memorable experience!! We will definitely come back!

Great lodge, perfectly close to Kruger, very nice people, BUT:
the beds were horrible. We had booked 2 luxe rondavels. We had matrasses which were only 1.80 m long, so our feet were hanging
out. The matrasses were so old that we actually slept on the wooden underground of the bed. Not really comfortable. We complained but the problem was not solved. They knew about it and they couldn't do anything about it, so in the end they gave us extra duvets to sleep on!! The only solution they could think of was to put us in one of their safari houses, but that would cost us 240 euro extra!!
What a shame for a 4 star lodge! Get some new matrasses and the place is fantastic.
