The sorroundings are really beautiful and spending the night in a castle is quite impressive (there was even an armour in the corridor!). We were four friends and rented a triple room with an extra bed, which was perfectly OK for a couple of nights. The room was really clean and beautiful. The whole B&B is clean and so nicely decorated. The buffet breakfast was really good, both in quantity, quality and variety. If you are lucky as we were, you can have it outside in the terrace.
The only flaws is that you need to take a ferry from Vaxholm to get to the kastelet (free of charge but with limited times, as the last one is arround 6pm), otherwise, take a boat-taxi. And it took as a while one night -it was quite late indeed, like 1.30am- to find out how to get one. If you plan to have dinner in Vaxholm and returning late, plan your way back ahead and have the taxi booked in advance or at least, the phone number at hand!).
We really enjoyed our stay there and would go back without a doubt. We strongly recommend it. Ideal for couples on a romantic stay or for family with kids (the castle is also a museum of battle arms) who will spend the day outside and return at more standard times than we did.More
