“good choice if you are visiting Kupang”
Reviewed March 13, 2014

Located on the sea side on the main road in Kupang , this hotel has a decent room size, friendly staff and the hotel view is really nice.
I would recommend this hotel for those who plan to visit Kupang.

Room Tip: ask for the sea view, the city view one is a bit hot during the day

Clean room, clean bathroom.
Check in and out fast.
Decent breakfast. Could be better of course.
Nice sea view restaurant. Have indoor and out door. Out door by the beach. Really nice.
Wifi in the room.
Generally ok.
Nothing much to complain. Location is good too, city centre.

I like the hotel view, especially from sea-view room. The pool was nice, the sunset was awesome. The staffs were nice but sometimes inconsistent, one day I got my room well cleaned, the other day I got my hair fall the day before stayed on the same spot.
But overall, It's a nice hotel.

Room Tip: choose the sea-view room

Pros: I gave it two because of the location, is right by the beach.
Cons: Dishonest personnel, dirty drinking water (has wiggler in it) they didn't change it even after we have complained about it. repetitively gave us very dirty towels (brown stains, looks like it has been use to wipe someone's bottom), they skipped our room when cleaning. Poor english skill. The price rate is almost the same as a resort rate in bali, but services, cleanliness, honesty, and professionalism was below average. Book it through Booking.com, they should have checked the hotel first, before letting them advertising at such rate.

Room Tip: Honestly, stay away from this hotel.

We went there from 27-30th of december last year. Reason was to visit the family of my sons girl-friend. There are not so much hotels with western standard in Kupang and the reviews were okay so we choose this hotel. The hotel itself is okay, rooms are okay, although the cleaning could do better. Ash from a cigarette in the soap tray, dead flie under the curtains, but ok you are not in NY or London and the rest of the room was clean. We had a nice room with a nice view, the pool is nice and the staff very friendly.

But the the first bad experience. We wanted to celebrate my sons engagement on the second day (saturday) and had planned to have a dinner with his girl friends parents that evening. When we wanted to make the reservation on friday for the restaurant they told us that is was not available on saturday and sunday due to a congress. It would be nice if that would have informed us before we arrived but this can happen. Only problem was where to find another restaurant. It was friday afternoon and we had a trip the next day so we needed to find a restaurant for sturdy evening quickly. Before we left to town me made a reservation for dinner in the hotel restaurant for the the same evening. Looking for a restaurant in Kupang was really difficult, simply because there are not many, most are waring indonesian style, not suited for our western stomach en not suited for an engagement party. After one and a half hour we found a bistro like restaurant "Lecker", we ate there saturday and it was fine.
But when we went for diner in the hotel on the friday night and we had our drinks sitting in the restaurant with the family the restaurant manager came to us and told us we could not eat there (alltough we made a reservation the THAT afternoon!) because the people for the conference had rent the restaurant and were coming. We could continue our dinner in the lobby of the hotel. We went to the lobby but that is not a location you want to invite guests. We were shown some conference rooms as an alternative, but eating in a cellar room without windows isn't nice too. After asking for the general manager and a discussion we were able to get back to the restaurant where I expected to see guests from the conference. No one to see. It was simple, the staff had to prepare for the conference and did not want to wait until we had finished dinner, even though we had made a reservation. So the restaurant manager simply LIED to us about the reason. And while we were eating they did their preparations.

Breakfast in the hotel was fine and we enjoyed the next two days of trips in beautiful West Timor. There is no beach where you can swim near to the hotel.

In the swimming pool we also had a negative experience. We went to the pool, asked for towels at the reception an wanted to go for a swim when one of the staff came to us and told us that swimming was at our own risk (?) because of chemicals in the pool. He told us that they normally put in the chemicals in when the pool is closed but that they now did it when the pool was in use, so we had to wait for an hour or swim at our own risk. But the strange thing was that there were children in the pool. Asking the general manager (who speaks a bit english) he denied the chemicals and said there was no problem at all. Were they lying again? We waited for half and the went in the pool, being careful to not drink any of the water. But it was a really strange story.

Overall, it is a western-level hotel, could be a bit more clean, breakfast is okay, pool is nice, view is nice, staff friendly but management lies to their guests and that may not be.

Amazing terrace for having meals by facing the wonderful beach of Lusiana, Laut Timor, East Nusa Tenggara. This brand new three star hotel in Kupang is quite comfortable, yet the conference room is pretty small except the Gold Room. I love spending time in the hotel terrace facing the pool which is next to the beach and Laut Timor. However, the size of fitness room need to be extended.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the beach are splendid

This is not exactly the world's wealthiest country and finding a hotel with western amenities is a treat. The pool is gorgeous and the sunsets are amazing. It's not too far to some of the main market areas. Flat screen TV, a western toilet with paper, and a decent shower are all included. The restaurant has both traditional Indonesian dishes as well as western food. The morning buffet is always different and always good! If your travels take you to Kupang, you can be fairly certain that this hotel will meet your basic needs for sleep and a shower. The bar is hit or miss as they currently only seem to be licensed to sell Bintang beer. Also, they easily run out of some basics like Coke.

Room Tip: Go for ocean side--the traffic on the street side is really loud.
