We have visited this attraction every October for the last 3 years. We come for the long weekend festival. The festival consists of vendors selling their wares. These are arts and crafts. Most of the vendors here offer high quality products. There are also those selling food products which are exceptionally tasty.
The location itself is beautiful. It is down in a valley right near Jordan in the middle of wine country. The name comes from the Ball family which built a mill for grinding grain into flour.
It has been restored and offers demonstrations showing how the machinery works. There is also a small Blacksmiths shop which also offers demonstrations. During this festival, there are demonstrations for weaving and a display of old steam engines.
If you are interested in birds, there is a display of some of the larger birds of prey.
Of course the falls are interesting and beautiful when the water is at the right level.
This year there was enough water to give an impressive display.
Balls falls would be a beautiful place to spend the day even when the festival is not on.
Bring a picnic and the family and enjoy your visit.
