After a not so great meal in St. Jacobs, we drove through beautiful countryside to Elora and luckily we happened upon the Mill Street Bistro and Bakery, which is set in an old 1800's stone house. Set right upon the bank of the Grand River with a wonderful patio, this eclectic place was a godsend as the temperature was climbing and we needed cold drinks.
We were greeted warmly at the door and shown to the patio after passing through a cute dining area with a counter full of great looking bakery items. The patio has an eclectic look to it with colorful tables and chairs. Being fully covered, the patio is a great place to sit and relax and look out over the river.
Drinks were nice and cold with plenty of ice and the price reasonable. Waiter came back and checked on us from time to time but didn't hover. Although we didn’t eat, the people sitting close to us had ordered a pasta dish that was the daily special and it looked great. Definitely will check out the Mill Street Bistro and Bakery next time I’m in Elora.
