I & My family had started in the morng from Kanatal (Club Mahindra) on 25/09 taking a Cab from Dehradun (Shreya Cab's-+918650820307) to Almora.

We landed around 5pm @ Almora & were scouting for some good hotels/resorts in the city, did not find anything interesting or spending our night out @ Almora & we decided to go on the outskirts of Almora-kasar devi binsar road & stumbled upon Imperial heights.

I was blown away when I went inside to check the property for availability of rooms/cottages.The resort was fabulously maintained the saddest part being that there were no guest's @ the property. It was dead empty! The reason being the Kedarnath tragedy & heavy rain's,landslide's during July/August have kept holiday reveler's away from the whole of Uttarakhand.

There was no front office staff, that's when housekeeping staff informed me that rooms/cottages are available on checking the same did finalise a cottage with a terrific view of the Almora Valley.

The cottage was excellent, no two ways about it..with fire place. The ceiling was draped with beautiful wooden logs, the walls were adorned with smooth rock/granite stones to give that rustic cottage look. The bathrooms were above average...I did not like the bath flooring. There is a Gym & well equipped, no Spa/swimming pool.

I was greeted by Laxman the senior/sole staff who takes care of everything from housekeeping to restaurant, front office check in/out.Very well mannered & helpful.

The restaurant's look was awesome from the outside, that really blew me away when I stepped in to the property for the first time. It's some thing that you could find it europe/swiss alps resort. Too good!!! The interiors were above average & spacious enough with two levels of dining.

We were Vegan's, so we were treated with a sumptuous buffet veg spread (Limited menu, as we were the only 4 guests for that night, good enough to say we are done!). The food was excellent & tasty.

In the morng again it was a limited menu veg buffet spread & it was very good!

There are some cafe's down the road say 1 or 2km's walk did not try it...no cabs also.. so you need to have your own vehicle or hire it from the resort.. keep that in mind. Almora is approx 6/7 kms from this resort.I don't suppose that there is any hotel/resort to compete @ the moment in the whole of Almora. There is construction activity that is going on @ the property, but it did not disturb us a wee bit, though we were very near to it & people were working on the site.

The owner (couple) of this property resides @ this property & hence he takes a personal interest in the upkeep & maintenance of this wonderful property. My wife did meet him very nice & humble gentlemen. The rooms are okay compared to the cottage, for the cottages I would rate it 5 stars if budget is not your constraint....

Rooms were of a good standard .The interiors are nicely done up with slanting roofs to give a feeling of cozyness and warmth.Food is absolutely great and has got a good collection of veg / non veg dishes which goes well with the chillness in the air. the servicemen were very courteous and accommodated all our all needs. The location of the hotel on the top of hill gives a lovely view of the mountains. the weather was cloudy with occasional showers and was perfect to enjoy the view from the terrace.Overall a very nicely maintained property which I would recommend to anyone who is looking for 2-3 days break in almora.

Imperial heights is a place to be,if you are looking forward for an amazing experience midst the laps of nature then imperial heights should top the chart. Amazing experience ,we stayed here for one day the rooms are amazing ,the ambiance is outstanding. We stayed here on the 21st of June'13 ,it was 1 day but a day that will never be forgotten and has increased our expectations of resorts. Our room appeared to be on the top of the valley ,the location of the hotel is outstanding. The best part came when we had food ,the layout of the dining area is very comfortable and has a light and homely feel to it.The food is mouth watering, presentation amazing and the impressive part was that we had taken up a package inclusive of breakfast and one meal, where one would generally expect a buffet but here also the hotel scored stars and excellence , the dinner and breakfast were served A'lacarte ,so sumptous and not to forget the sweet dishes they serve, i guess its their speciality. One thing i cannot forget to mention is that having been to certain resorts (good ones)at various places ,we never got free wi-fi connections and since nowadays its soo necessary and definitely is not an expensive thing for the hotel management still u pay and you get scheme avails you the wi-fi but here at imperial heights you get wi-fi and you don't pay for it.Last but not the least the staff is one of the best you can get ,they were ready to help us on almost all the things ,we also got to meet the owner couple here who were again very nice.If you are travelling anywhere near almora do visit this place.

The pristine hinterland of Kumaon Himalayas has always been an inspiration for Imperial Heights. As you move into this boutique retreat, you will be amazed to experience authentic culture and nature that it has sealed within its teak interiors. Today, the word ‘Kumaon’ inspires visions of exotic hills, exceptional comfort, and the fascination of romantic & rugged nature. It is us at Imperial Heights who have been upholding this image.Perched 9 kms beyond the town of Almora, IH is tugged in a quaint village of Kasar Devi; approximately 2,100 meters above the sea level. The brainchild behind the resort, Mr. Bhupesh Joshi is a progressive Hindi Poet and a creative sketching artist. The well-manicured green patches in the resort are haven to range of flora and fauna that can be duly appreciated from Swarnika, the multi-cuisine restaurant that serves sumptuous Indian, Chinese and Continental delicacies. ... more   less
