“An amazing hotel - one of the best.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Theme park hotels in Europe are often overpriced, and rather bland when compared to their american counterparts.

This is not the case with Hotel Ling Bao. The decor is beautiful, the Japanese garden is beautiful, and the rooms are rather large and feel luxurious. The price feels right.

The staff is great, and really aims at satisfying you. Although the beds are a bit hard, this wasn't really a problem.

Phantasialand (the theme park) is a wonderful little theme park, closer in atmosphere and quality to Disneyland Paris than to your average six flags. Attention to theme is great, and they really know how to fill the smallest part with great rides. We spent two days there and did not have the time to do everything.

Only disappointment is the food. You can eat Asian, or African, but if you feel like eating a more traditional meal, you'll be sorely disappointed, unless you love German food. Sausages, sausages, sausages.

This was not a problem for me, but I can imagine that picky eaters will have a hard time finding something that they like... and will probably end up going to the kid's buffet.

I loved this hotel!
When you enter, everything you see in the asian theme. Nice and calm atmosphere around the reception area.
Staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are normally ready at 15.30pm. You can put your luggage in a storage room. Then you check in and you get your tickets for the park. There is a special entrance to the park in the garden just for hotel guests.
If you travel by car: there is a parking area just in front of the hotel. This is also for free.

Rooms have a good size. Even when you are travelling as a family (2 adults and 2 children). Children sleep in a bunk bed (also in asian theme). Adults have a large bed (seperate).
Bahroom is very clean and you have a spacious shower.

You have a nice indoor & outdoor pool. The sauna is also for free.

We ate in the buffetrestaurant of the hotel. This is also in asian theme: sushi, noodles, ... But you also have a lot of other things, for people who are not really fan of the asian cuisine.
There is no AC in the room.

Room Tip: Rooms with view on the courtyard are quieter Rooms as high as possible: you have a nice view + the...

It' s really a Nice hotel. From the moment you walk in you are in asia! The staff is very friendly. Its possible to check in around 10 o' clock and get your entrance tickets. The room was very Nice with a bunk bed for the childeren. Its really a good hotel for childeren. There is also a pool and a sauna for free. There is a parking space in front of the hotel. The breakfast was good, there were a lot of things like eggs..

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on the court yard

We booked one night combined with a one day ticket to the park. When we arrived we also got tickets to visit the park from 16pm till closing time (18pm), which gives you a first opportunity to visit the park. We where pleased with the credible Chinese atmosphere, room size and the beds. A small minus was that it stayed very warm in the room even though it was cold outside and the heating pointed out that it was only 18 degrees. We also made use of the nice pool and the sauna (not to big, but not that many sauna-enthusiasts). Breakfast offers a big choice with as a bonus fresh made omelettes to taste. Very good croissants (certainly by German standards). Polite and helpfull staff. The only issue in this acclaimed 4-star is the very poor quality of wifi. None available in the room and constantly failing in the lobby. For the price you still pay (even after possible package-reductions) this needs to be sorted out.

The Ling Bao hotel in Phantasialand is a nice hotel. Perfect for families (familyroom is good). Food is ok. It's not really expensive. Very nice pool. Good bar. Perfect parking (free). So if you want to go to Phantasialand? Stay here.

Located at Phantasialand, this superb hotel has its own entrance to the park (which was great after the wife got soaked on a ride and just went back to the room and was back in time for our next ride (under 10 mins). We arrived and were given complimentary access on the first day after 1600hrs and managed to get around the park and do most of the rides!!! We were also given complimentary fast pass tickets to the big rides and if you use this in conjunction with babyswap you can get double!!!

Breakfast buffet was excellent and they have there own Kinder Buffet which is set at a lower level which is great for the little ones, also this provided an endless supply of free sweets.

Hotel rooms very comfortable and the Asian theme was well suited. Prices for beer were very reasonable, and the fact that characters were walking around making a fuss of the kids was fantastic.

Also has a great indoor/outdoor pool which is a great area to relax.

For the price, this hotel is very reasonable and if you consider the added extras - parking, park admission, fast passes etc, then without having a tiresome drive after a long day- this place is great value for money.

The hotel Ling Bao is surprisingly authentic (I have been living for 13 years in China), in other words the furniture etc. is reasonably authentic and great fun for kids. There is a good evening entertainment show. The breakfast buffet is very nice. The rooms are spacious and large as well as quiet. Only downside is the very poor internet connectivity. This is an absolute standard in a modern hotel, even for a holiday hotel. The other downside is the lack of a gym, though there are good running tracks in the forests around (about which the staff is not well informed).
