i had gone and stayed for just one night in this wonderful lodge and believe me, it was an experience!! i was met by a pretty little lady who was looking after that resort and was also the p r in charge. her bubbly inter action with me and other guests was amazing. she escorted me up the wooden steps , up a tree into a very comfortable room about 15 -18 feet off the ground , actually built on a tree!!the toilets had all jaguar fittings and every thing was fixed in wood, floor, sink, shower. The bath room had sliding doors and so did the doors to the terrace which over looks most of the trees. There was a mini fridge, split a/c, fan and a huge bed.along with a tea coffee maker.
The dinner was on a tree.....actually built on mahua tree with a wonderful bar. good drinks, excellent food and snacks and we were joined by the big man, Karan of the company who heads operations.
we were escorted back to our rooms as one has to go thru tall grass and one never knows whats sitting in front of you!! very exciting, gives you the thrill of wild life, so near.!. at night, i could hear scratching of some animal wanting to come into the room from the roof, and thru the door but a couple of shooooos , they went away i was taken to their huge pond and hoped to see some of the famous wild bores but no such luck.
if you go the bandhavgarg again, i strongly suggest you spend a couple of nights here too along with kings lodge.

Room Tip: take the room near the pond

We stood here for 4 nights, in January 2013, and we loved it. People were nice. The food OK and the rooms good. We visited from there and with a guide from Tree House the Bandhavgarh Park.
Difficult to see tigers, but, we were lucky and saw two the third day. But we are not in a Disney Park !
You have to drive through the nature and look carrefully.
The reserve is nice, but the Indian rules have alot to learn from the African Reserves !

My husband, daughter & I spent 2 nights at Treehouse Hideaway. (palash Treehouse).
It was comfortable and well equipped. The night we were there there was a terrible storm...and yes, the tree swayed while it thundered & the lightening flashed lighting up the whole 'tree house'. But not a drop of water inside...Superb.

But 'Palash' needs termite treatment. There was powder falling on luggage, the bed etc

Mr. Ajit, the manager & his staff go out of the way to make you feel comfortable...beyond the call of duty.

But central booking office in Delhi is a nightmare to deal with. They have no clue as to what is happening on location. The communication skills of those I corresponded with was sadly lacking.
Money up front..months in advance...but messed up the bookings for safaris in requested zones.
Pugdundee would do much better to let their resorts deal with customers directly. There would be no confusion on accomodation / meal preferances / requested zones etc

Room Tip: At the moment Palash has a termite problem with powder dropping on the bed etc

Me & my husband had a road trip from kolkata to Bandhavgarh without any pre plans.. wanted to check in in one of the best resort and relax for few days.
When we went to check the tree house we didnt have much hope,as we had not done the booking previously. but we were lucky they had the rooms vacant for the days we needed to stay.
we stayed in Mahua Tree house. As the name suggest it was indeed on top of Mahua tree..
the room was mind-blowing.. very well maintained, well equipped, with all the stuff needed from AC,heaters, to blowdryer inside the bathroom.
the room also had a beautiful balcony..and the bathroom was huge..:) with sliding door to the room as well as to the balcony..
the interiors was very rustic which goes very well with the place.
The Staff are really warm,Friendly & through professional. they make your stay most pleasurable with pieces of information, guidance, and at the same time gives you a home like feeling.
Food was also great.
The Naturalist takes you for a bird watch in the morning, Tiger safari and is so good in his subject that you will return back home full of new informations about the wildlife and forest.
On the whole this was our best experience till date of our numerous journeys.

Had a few lovely days at the tree house. Setting is wonderful & the rooms up in the trees are really very nice. Some may say they are a bit basic but we found them very comfortable & clean, quirky is a better word. The food was excellent, some of the best we ate while in India. Can walk around the area quite safely so if you are in to birding you will have a wonderful time. The tiger reserve is quite organised which can be a bit of a pain as you are allocated specific drives and can't go off them even if tigers are seen elsewhere but that's not the hotel's fault! The staff at the hotel were really good & went out of their way to ensure you have a great time. Can't fault the hotel in any way and would stay again if we ever go that way again.
