Very nice hotel, in large grounds, in a quiet side street in Herzogenaurach. The rooms are typical German-style, amply-sized, modern, clean and orderly.
I have stayed in this hotel many times, and always found the staff friendly and attentive. The restaurant is also good.
What always stood out for me was the buffet breakfast - great quality and range, including (very important for a Brit) excellent teas.

Now Herzogenaurach is a beautiful little town with some world class companies so the hotel is normally quite busy with business travellers. I suggest getting an early booking to secure the place. It's one of the best hotel I've stayed in, a little expensive however in return you get some amazing stay and lovely staff. Rooms are very large and lovely, bar and restaurant provide some quality food. I stayed for business and would always stay there if I need to return.

We last stayed in this hotel in 2011 December. As our stay was intended for more than two weeks we booked their apartment. Unfortunately it is no where for a 4 star hotel. The service was very poor & the staff was not attentive in some occasions., the apartment amenities were not up to standard & some apartments are very small.

Wifi is exorbitantly costly for a long term stay & the quality of the Wifi is very poor. The restaurant food is not bad but very costly. The out side bar & the restaurant is quite nice.

The spa area staff was friendly & the gym is satisfactory for the standard of the hotel.

Thank you for your feedback on TripAdvisor. We trust you will understand that a comprehensive answer to your review will be difficult as your stay in our hotel was already two years ago and we are continously working on improving us and our services.
The apartments are a cost-efficient alternative for guests who wish to stay in our hotel for a longer period of time. As you know the rooms in our main house you will know that the prices for the apartments are much lower than the usual room rate, which of course has influence on the equipment of the rooms. But we can tell you that we have just recently renovated all apartments in "Akazienhaus", so now they have a fresh and modern look.
We are pleased to hear that you liked our bar and restaurant. Preparing our dishes we are always looking for fresh organic products from regional producers. Fruit and vegetables of the season, meat and poultry are mostly coming from the Franken region. This quality - from which also benefits our environment - has of course its appropriate price. By the way we have lowered our WLAN prices starting 1 november 2012. Since then we are offering our guests a 24h quality-highspeed internet acces for 5,90 € instead of 12,90€. I would be pleased to welcome you again at HerzogsPark hotel,

your Michael Bläser, hotel manager

Pros:
Nice and spacious rooms, very calmed for the people that intend to have a very relaxed stance, and a few members of the staff that were very professional and attentive to a few issues I had.
Spacious bathroom with a nice tub and a towel warmer. In the room you have TV, closet, area for luggage a tiny living room, a desk and I had the breakfast included. In the scores below, I would give 5 to the rooms if they did had an iron. I didnt realized until I was rushing in the morning that there wasnt any.

Cons:
The hotel is practically in the middle of a residential area, absolutely nothing to do, I really did not get why there was not some sort of shuttle that allowed me to get at least to downtown, to the adi store or anywhere. I felt a bit trapped and it is so calmed that a person like me may feel isolated. I had to take a cab all the time. so that just adds to the expense. Internet is not free.

My experience this time:
First of all, it was just a few days ago and it was unusually hot in Germany, my first night I arrived quite late and obviously cuz I do not think it is used quite often, the AC was not working,
the inside room temperature was 30 celsius! no way I could sleep. I tried to open one window but big mosquitos started to come in, so I closed it asap. (didnt save me from a few bites tho).
I put the fan at the minimum temp and got to lower the temp to 27. Still too hot, but fortunately the output of the AC reaches the bed directly. I mentioned it at the next morning, when I came back to my room they already prepared it to me and as soon as I entered I felt a really comfy 24 degrees. I appreciated they took care of that and made sure my room was at a nice temperature for the time I arrived.

My last night I had some inconveniences as the housekeeper left the bathroom window open and being really close to the trees, a few bugs started to get in in the night, I requested some pesticide, but they didnt have any, long story short, I didnt want to sleep with the bugs as some of them were already wondering around my belongings and toiletry bag, so there I am hunting bugs at 1:00 am. After some back and forth they agreed to move me to a different room (that was quite nicer), but for the rest of the 4:30 hours, i would have really preferred to have a continuous sleep as I had a long meeting the next day. I had to dress, pack and move only for a few hours, then try to sleep again, my night was far from restful.

I expressed my concern at the checkout and the lady that assisted me told me that the manager was not in that moment, but she would take care of it, so she was accountable of following up and was very receptive and professional to my feedback which I appreciated it a lot (she even asked me if my bug bites were ok), I said yes, only a few itchy ones.

A few days later I received a letter from the management apologizing for the event, and since I paid on full, I was offered a courtesy to replace the night I couldnt sleep if I stay there again. I may have had a terrible night, but the apologize letter and the response trying to fix the problem, talks about commitment and if I return to Herzo I am more confident that the management do listen and do care for the customer. And I really appreciate that.

Thanks

Room Tip: It is a very quiet hotel, so the times I have stayed there, doesnt matter where they put me, it is a...

Pleasant hotel, extremelly kind and professional staff, very tasty food and good variety. When going there, however, make sure you're assigned a room in the main building. Probably because the hotel was fully booked I stayed in a separate building, quite far from the reception if you have to walk with some luggage and 32º C at 11 pm. This two-floor building (Akazien?) has no elevator and no A/C or even a fan. It was extermely hot and it was difficult to sleep even after a cold shower. Since I stayed 2 nights, I did request a fan after the first night and they said it was impossible, which made my second night as miserable as the first. Also, the TV only features German or German-dubbed channels, so if you understand this language... The management should actively cater for these details to improve the customer's experience. JP

I recently stayed at this hotel for a 4 day business stay. Great amenities and the hotel is well maintained. Starting with the room, quite espacious and the bed was comfortable. Lots of TV channels as well, most in german though, but you get CNBC, Bloomberg, and some others. The AC was doing a little noise but nothing out of ordinary. The first night was cold outside but warm inside so slept with window open. Bathroom is really espacious. Breakfast was very good, loved the juice selection (from passion fruit, to banana and the classic OJ), and the sausage, the only thing was that the buffet was the same every day, so if you stay there for a long time, you might get tired of it, but it is very good. Never had lunch at the hotel since I was always working, but dinner was good, a bit expensive but good, had first the "Adi Dassler Favorite" which i liked, but my best dish was a filet cooked with wine. The location was not the best, close to downtown but you need a cab to get there or anywhere in town. There is a farmacy and an ATM a block from the hotel so that was helpful.
The service was great both at the hotel, restaurants but primarily at the bar. Good drinks, beers and if you like curry, ask for the currywurst (sausage with curry and fries). Got help with taxis/cabs everytime I needed one, and also requested an iron which they were able to help so service was perfect. I rate this hotel 4 out of 5 because of location but definetely would stay there again. Value was good.

Room Tip: have a drink at St James Bar

Thank you very much for your great feedback- we are pleased to hear that we could offer you a pleasant business trip. Concerning the location of our hotel on the outskirts of Herzogenaurach you are of course right: you need some means of transportation, but on the other hand this situation guarantees a relaxed and quiet sleep for our guests. We would be pleased to welcome you again as our guest here at HerzogsPark hotel. Best regards, Michael Bläser, hotel manager

Well maintained Great amenities. What floored me was the excellent service, something that you don't honestly always get or even expect in Germany. Wholesome and tasty food menu. Dont forget to spend some quiet time in the library above the reception. Old world charm!

Room Tip: Stay in the main building, where the reception is.
