1. Beautifully located, well maintained exteriors, gardens, lawns etc
2. Nice views of snow-clad himalayas
3. Personalized service of food, breakfast, meals etc
4. Rooms are large but have peculiar smell, creaking flooring and can hear foot steps of upstairs customers
5. the not-so-good part is the bathroom - gets completely wet, no proper design, no bath curtain
6. Wi-fi of good quality but half the time the telephone connection is down

Room Tip: Be Prepared to Relax with interrupted or poor quality phone connections

A beautiful property in a lovely wooded area. Definitely recommend it for a quiet, peaceful getaway. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and see many different birds. The beautiful lawn with a nice view of the hills beyond made our breakfasts memorable. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive. Rooms are clean. We did not expect the room to have much plastic needing everyday replacement like the usual mineral water bottles/coffee/tea packs, and the hotel did not disappoint. They were not there. The bath essentials were in order. There is a small tv with local cable connection. Food is great. A play area for children and a table tennis room kept my son busy. Though the wooden floor creaks and it takes a little bit of time to get the insects out of our room at night, this hotel is the perfect little place to unwind.

It is a wonderful 110 year old heritage property. It has the Raj era charm. The house and the land surrounding it is beautiful. It is a fairly large property. Beautiful setting for walks.
The house has a bit of a musky smell to it because of the old wood all around. Takes a little getting used to. Also the wooden floors and stairs creak but that is part of the ambiance i guess.
Rooms are large and spacious with balconies. Food is top notch.
Great location for leisureliness with long walks etc.

Room Tip: There are some newer rooms in an annexe to the old house. If you have allergies or do not like the smell of old wood, i would recommend that you request for one of these. Also these have nicer bathrooms etc.

We came to stay for a week for a little bit of a retreat. There is an amazing view of Himalayas when the sky is clear (most days) and we even woke up at about 6 to see the sunrise over the mountains. The staff are EXTREMELY hard working, friendly and willing to help. The Manager of the hotel is also willing to help in any way and he will give you great tips on sightseeing and eateries around the place. There is a nice walking trail that goes for about 3 km up to the iconic 'Jhula devi mandir'. The food in the hotel itself is brilliant (we made the wise choice of inclusion of dinner in our rates). The rooms are nice and clean and if you ask any of the cleaners and local staff they will tell you great stories and the history of the property and the area. The manager allowed the kids to find fire wood and build a camp fire. Will definitely stay again soon.

Room Tip: we had room 202 it was a large room with a view of the Himalayas
