“Disappointed”
Review of Dwarkamai Masjid

Dwarkamai Masjid
Reviewed February 8, 2014

I've been visiting Shirdi for 35 years and Dwarkamai has been one place where we used to feel very spiritual and we used to spend number of hours there. I get that the crowds are growing and so is the terrorist threats, but the level to which that the Sansthan is covering the important areas, it has completely lost the value from a divotee perspective. Terrible.

The Mosque named by Sai as Dwarkamai. This the place where Sai stayed for 60 years before taking Samadhi. With its corrugated iron roof and rough stone walls, the mosque could never be described as grand. Yet, in spite of this – or rather, because of this – it seems to have suited Baba very well. Describing himself as a simple fakir, Baba was a model of dispassion and holy poverty. His personal possessions amounted to little more than a few pieces of cloth, some chillim pipes, a stick, a begging bowl, and a change of kafni – and not even always that. Whenever his devotees wanted to refurnish the mosque, Baba resisted and said that it was not necessary, although basic repair work was gradually carried out.

It is just opposite Baba's Chavdi, and on back of Dwarka Mai, devotees of almost all caste visit here, but the place is not maintained at all, poor lighting. The trustees of this Masjid should spend on this place.

The urn lighted & used by baba is still kept burinig here.
You can also see the rock on which baba used to sit.
The udi from the urn is the main prasad & is used by firm believers of Baba to treat various ailments - Miracles do happen
Incredible India !!!
