After scouring through the web and asking the locals we were finally able to locate the famous shop which is apparently the original kalakand shop. They have four branches in the city of Alwar. The Kalakand (Milk cake of Alwar) is what they are famous for but they also prepare other sweets such as a variety of barfis, laddoos, Sohan halwa, etc. We even tried their breakfast/snack options like the khaman dhokla and the kachori. I have to admit that in a long time I hadn't eaten such a tasty kachori served with fresh chutney. We tried almost all the sweets and it was difficult to choose. If you visit the city make sure to carry a bag of kalakand for your family back home. The staff is very nice and friendly. Do not miss eating the Kalakand when in Alwar.
