“My birthday in Mount Abu”
Reviewed November 14, 2009

Mount Abu is a nice hill station and the only one in Rajasthan. It is about 4 hours by car from Udaipur and is also very clost to Ahmdebad, Gujrat. I would recommend going there on a weekday not on the weekend, because it gets pretty chaotic in the centre by Nakki Lake. I would also recommend staying at either the Bikaner house or the Jaiupur house as they are both beautiful heritage properties.

I had been to Mount Abu in Diiwali vacations 2007 .We went there from Ahmadabad. There are frequent bus service to Mount Abu from Ahmadabad. It takes 5 to 6 hrs.to reach there. As u reach there automatically your heart will say what a beautiful place? Hotel we have already booked was also good.We reached there morning 7.00. We checked in at 8.00 . Our sightseeing programme was already arranged by hotel itself .They arranged 4 wheeler for sight seeings. After breakfast we went for sight seeing .That day we saw Nukky lake , Prajapita Bramhakumari's Ashram.there was beautiful Garden near the Ashram, One frog point was there from where you can see beautiful nazara of city. Climate was also pleasant. Food was also good .You can shop beautiful and famous Ghagra choli at reasonable price. If anyone like to visit various hill stations dont miss this hill station. I would like to recommend this place specially for honeymoon couples.

“A perfect three day outing place”
Reviewed February 8, 2009

I hail from the northern part of the country and as such have traveled a fair bit when it comes to hills and mountains in general. I recently traveled on an extended three day weekend to Mount Abu with friends. On a comparative basis, Abu is probably close to what Mussourie is in terms of its climate and feel - except that you don't see the towering Himalayas all around you (instead you are quite at one of the highest points in the region) and that there are the beautiful Dilwara temples in here.
Here are some things to look forward to -

- There's the trek to Guru Shikhar which must be taken up. The view from the top is simply breath-taking...Keep your camera handy and get ready to click loads of awesome pics!
- Boating in Nakki Jheel is a must for everyone.
- Do try daal-baati once if you are a non-Rajasthani...I am sure you'd thank me for it :)
- A special word for Dilwara - its simply the most amazing piece of stone "nakkashi" art i have come across till now. And really, it beats even Taj Mahal at some point.

All in all, its a must visit...So well...have a great time in Abu!

“a great heritage place”
Reviewed December 5, 2008

i visit mount abu with my parents . It was in February-March - a nice time to visit.. when its not too hot. The sunset point is a wonderful place to watch the sun set while being perched on the hill-top.

You can enjoy boating on the Nakki Lake. Near the lake are several shops selling traditional handicrafts. Achalgarh and Guru Shikhar are also worth visiting. But the highlight of Mt abu is certainly the magnificent Jain temples of Delwara. They are amazing beyond words.

You have to see it to believe it! Then if you have time, you can also visit the BrahmaKumai Peace park and they also have a big township at the foot of the mountain. Adhar Devi is also a nice place to visit - a small temple reached by climbing a couple hundred steps. All around the scenary is beautiful and the place is relatively clean - no plastic bags hanging on trees.. Hope it stays like that forever
