I landed up in the hotel fairly late in the evening while it was raining and not much could be seen around. Upon check-in, I got to know that the room allotted was in the Annexe Block and not the main block - resulting in a bit of disappointment. However post a reasonable meal at the restaurant and a quick trip to the famous Dilwara Temples, I retired for the night. The rooms in the annexe block are basic. No tea maker in the room.
Up early the next morning, I took an umbrella and headed towards the main block - the heritage building, which seemed more promising with the daylight. Had a quick look at the property, which was decently built - not too elaborate but with typical bells and whistles which you expect in a heritage structure in Rajasthan.
The terrace had really spell binding 360 degree views. Hwoever there was more in store for me....
On reaching the verandah of the heritage building, I stood almost on the edge of the Nakki Lake with heavy mist and fog just about beginning to disappear. And lo, what a sight it unravelled - truly majestic appearance of the Mount with the Nakki lake in the foreground - spellbinding! The sight kept me rivetted for several minutes. What a relaxing sight of the lake, the hills and the spread of Mount abu! The windows of the restaurant, too, provided great visuals. Next time, I would want to be in the heritage building!
