“Heritage Property, Excellent Views”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

We stayed for a day on a driving holiday through Rajasthan.
Heritage property which needs effort to locate, and to reach (narrow lanes et al); situated on a high peak overlooking the lake, this is the best feature here..
Entering the estate at the lower level takes you through well tended gardens before you reach the upper level. Adequate free parking space available.
The Top level room was highly recommended, and we could see why.
This has the entire terrace, and sit-out dining options under the chhatris all for you.
Truly outstanding views, even from the room-especially in the morning.

The room was basic, the bathroom seemed an 'add-on' as an afterthought.
Not many modern conveniences (Old CRT TV, old hot-air blower, tatty blanket); no reading lights, poor quality bathroom supplies and worn out towels were disappointing.
Antique furniture was interesting, albeit with some mismatches (beautiful tiger clawed writing table & chair- sideboards were gimcrack).
Wi-Fi worked only around reception.
Breakfast was served in a sunny restaurant with fair views; service was attentive & quick (in general staff were polite & responsive).
Spread was adequate and check-in / check-out process was efficient.

Other than the location & views, there is not much to recommend this property.
Overall, I found this average value for money

Room Tip: Choose the top room if available-the views alone are well worth the price

This beautiful old building is located on a hilltop overlooking Nakki Lake. There are a restaurant, small garden and terrace in the main building. The newer annex doesn't have as good a view.

I had one of the small basic rooms in the old building. It had a small window towards the lake and another to inner yard. The room itself looked almost the same as it probably looked some 70 years ago. In January, the rooms were cold and first I got a very weak heater but they changed it when I asked. You probably won't spend too much time in the room, anyway, as there is a nice hall with photos on the wall and other places for sitting and enjoying the view.

To get to the hotel from the village you need to walk (or drive) up very narrow roads. Walking takes less than 15 minutes but in the evening it's rather dark.

There were not many guests in the hotel, so the athmosphere was peaceful. I had lunch and breakfast in the hotel; both were ok.

Room Tip: If you want something special they have one room in the second floor (#201 if I remember correctly...

The location at highest point in Mt. Abu was heavenly.
The view from the hotel was great. Great service and helpful staff.
Reasonably priced. We appreciated the complimentary dinner offered by the hotel particularly as we were senior citizens(ladies) and did not have to bother about safety aspect and did not have to step out at night even if it be in our vehicle.

was a good experience with the hotel...excellent location...there couldnt be better place in Mount Abu than this place for a honeymoon...especially the royal suite which is the only one in the hotel n at the topmost of the hotel....gives the most beautiful view of the whole Abu.... step out of your room in the morning n find yourself covered with fog.... tasty food...nice ambience gives you vintage feel. Though the royal suite being a lil expensive looking at the amenities and ambience but gives you privacy. the overall experience was worth cherishing.

Room Tip: sorry, just checked in for royal suite which is just one and very good, cant say about other rooms.

Fantastic location, friendly staff. Restaurant has limited choices but tasty food. Sumptious Dinner in silver thali makes you feel like a royal, not to be missed. 360 degree views from Royal suite are worth the money. Royal suite is a bit old fashioned, but drips in charm & heritage. Contrary to most reviews on this site, we had wonderful & unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: Royal suite it is. Experience it for the best in Mt. Abu

The jaipur house is located on a hilltop at the highest point of Mt. Abu, giving an amazing view of the city. The location is very convenient as its located just 5min walking distance from the main market near Nakki lake. The rooms are spacious, clean and has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. It has beautiful lawns and garden with play areas for kids. Its a very good place if one is interested spending few days at Mt.abu as it offers scope for resting , strolling and having a nice chat on a swing in its lawn. The staffs are very helpful and efficient. It has good restaurant offering both veg and non-veg dishes, hot water, TV, AC and other amenites.

Though the amenities are not too great (the flushes need repair from leaks), for the price we are paying, the service more than made up for this. From giving us a room earlier than the check in time, hot water, excellent tea and the very helpful staff (they helped set up for a birthday surprise.. despite the ungodly hour) the service left us with a smile. The view from the hotel is excellent.
