“Must stay place at Mount Abu”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

We stayed at Ratan Vilas for 2 Nights in second week of February..and i say it was the most memorable part of our trip..
Pros : beautiful location..ideal for a nature lover..dont miss out on early morning trekking.., excellent hospitality by the staff and special mention of Mr. Yogesh who attends to even smallest of the requests...and nice food.
Cons: problem with the hot water as the geyser switch is placed outside and had to wait for quite some time to get some hotwater.
but stlll i would recommend this place as a must stay for all travellers to Mount Abu...
and we were lucky enough to see a leopard right infront of our vehicle..it was sheer luck.

Room Tip: choose for the cottages..

Pros:
Excellent Location - away from any noise
Beautiful Property - the restaurant specially
Amazing Service - Everyone was willing to go out of their way to help you (thanks Angad & Yogesh)
Forest Trekking - Didn't see any bear(apparently chances are slim in this time of year) still totally worth it

Cons:
Lacks Amenities - No coffee maker in rooms, Geyser switch outside rooms which apparently gets turned off to save power!

If not too fussy about such things its a wonderful place to stay.

Cheers

Room Tip: Choose Cottage rooms only. There are only 2 Bunglow rooms and they seem out of place.

Ratan Vilas is SUPERLATIVE in all respects. We were 38 pax for 2 nights all inclusive. Mr.Siddharth Singh,The Owner was very considerate. He immediately understood our needs & offered the Best package. Mr.Angad Chowdhary & Mr.Yogesh Kushwah & their team offered the Best service in all respect. The Welcome,The Check-in,The Food,The Housekeeping & other services were the Best & the Fast. All of us fully enjoyed the D.J. & grand celebration in The Huge Hall with lot of space & beautiful view. We were taken to adjacent Thick forests for trekking. The spralling lawns were quite refreshing. Thanx a lot!!!

Room Tip: All Rooms are Nice. You select.

We stayed at Ratan Villas in the first week of Feb. It was a fabulous experience as the hotel is at a quiet location and the hospitality of the staff is unparallelled. The service and amenities are also up-to-the-mark and make your stay really comfortable.
I would especially like to mention about Mr. Yogesh's hospitality and energy levels with which he was always ready to help and serve us, no matter what!
In short, this hotel just adds to your vacation and it was indeed a memorable stay!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the garden offer a better view

We stayed for 1 night with the family. Both the manager and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is quite a distance from the main city, and feels as if you are living in the countryside. The villas are clean and well equiped, and the staff gave us fan heaters and extra blankets as the nights were really cold. The place looked quite empty as we were the only guests at breakfast. The restaurant is on the 1st floor of the main building, and is very basic. The compound is really good for some peace and quiet, and if you want a few days of relaxation. The food was really good. We just wished for warmer weather and a longer stay to enjoy the place. One negative comment is that there was no hot water in the bathrooms in the morning. This would be OK during the summer months, but not pleasant for our stay.

We visited this place for the new years eve with a group of friends. The place is nice little away from the city and near the hills.
Food was superb and so was the service.
A recommended place in Abu definitely.

Nestled in the Aravalli’s that abode Mount Abu, this lodge is located at the highest altitude throughout western India, together with being in an open wild life sanctuary. Sloth bear (common) and leopard (rare and by luck) can be sighted. The luxury resort features 20 luxury villas set and 5 rooms around 3 serene acres of land. The resort eco-sensitive zone provides an ideal habitat for the bird - Green Munia. It is the presence of numerous birds which make Mount Abu a paradise for bird watchers. It is in proximity to 5 major tourist destinations in Mount abu:- Delwara - Jain Temple, Achalgarh, Trevor’s Tank and Peace Park. It is en route Gurushikhar, which is the highest peak of the Aravalli Ranges. Forest friendly cottages were incorporated to promote eco-friendly tourism in 2009 A.D at The Fern Ratan Villas, Mount Abu – Rajasthan. It is the first and only lodge which is situated in the heart of the Mount Abu Wild Life Sanctuary. The premise of the Lodge was based on the need to conserve the delicate balance between human and nature and show through example, how tourism can be constructive and when necessary, controlled effectively. We, from the urban environment, have forgotten how to relate to our natural habitat, to respect and nurture it. The Fern Ratan Villas’ endeavour is to propagate this, through real nature interactions, together with the special experience. This is very important balance and its comprehension is missing from the urban life. The Fern Ratan Villas, however is an oasis of serenity and offers a splendid view of gigantic granite rocks, dotted with caves and temple. Crowned by a natural rock of an African elephant - proud guardian to the open forest on one side and the crumbling Aravali hills on the other. It is set amidst trees on a private estate, overlooking a valley and along its northern periphery. It is a fifteen minute drive, further up from the Nakki Lake cutting through the mountains and forest. ... more   less
