Mount Abu and Abu Road – Brahmakumari (BK)
Abu Road is connected by Railway line and National Highway and Mt.Abu is hill station about 30kms from Abu Road.
Brahmakumari establishment is at 3 places – 2 on Mt.Abu (Universal Peace Hall and Peace Park) and one at Abu Road The Diamond Hall (SHANTIVAN).
The following is by both Men and Women – Brahma KUMAR and Brahma KUMARI.
The founder was a Diamond Merchant - Dada Lekharj Kripalani, who later took the name Brahma Baba – hence Brahma Kumar and Kumaris. He was of Pakistan origin.
The Diamond hall at Abu Road is very huge. 450 x 225 feet with no pillars in between. The hall has a seating capacity of 12,000 and can get packed upto 20,000. Similarly is their accommodation and messing inside for 12,000 people. They have a smaller auditorium also for lesser gatherings and daily speeches.
People wishing to stay there have to register their names through their nearest local establishment who in turn will send you to Abu Road. For visitors the halls are open anytime. However they are not allowed to enter Accomodation quarters and Mess Rooms.
On Mount Abu is the Universal hall and the accommodation quarters is opposite, the Pandav Bhawan. Generally people who are senior in BK only are allowed to stay here. This is also known as Om shanti Bhawan.
The Peace Park has to be toured silently. Even the devotees there show directions in hand signals only. However they have a 15 mins lecture followed by a video of 10 mins.
The general BK’s normally stay at Abu Road. They only have a day tour to Mt.Abu during their stay.

“For Western tourists Mt Abu is not interesting”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

Mt Abu wad cold, boring and full of gujarati package tourists. For Western tourists there is no reason to visit. I wish we had known, that would have saved a scary trip up and down for nothing.
