My friends and I had a horrible experience at this hotel. We arrived and no one greeted us - smile, "namaste," nothing. Just creepy stares. Then our rooms were not properly ready - one had no windows, and the other's toilet exploded with water when flushed. They then told us there weren't other rooms, yet proceeded to show us two others. After complaining about the poor service and serious lack of preparation, the manager allowed us to stay in the deluxe room for a night for the same price. Nice, but it should never have happened.

The hotel itself was stale and felt like death. I don't believe that anyone else was staying there. We got the total creeps from all staff and felt like we were in a spooky horror movie. None of the food was good, way too much oil and old-tasting chai. It was truly a miserable experience and we only stayed one night.

DO NOT STAY HERE.

We had tried to book a decent hotel in Mount Abu but did not expect that all the Hotels would be full. In-fact after sending booking query to many Hotels, it was Mr. Chetan from Sunrise Palace who called up constantly and only due to his persistence, we took the decision to stay in Sunrise Palace.

The Pro's of the Hotel :-
1) Wonderful Property
2) Away from the Noise
3) Great Staff and very Helpful, I want to take a lot of names but the space would be less, they are an asset to the Hotel

The Con's of the Hotel :-
1) Not worth the price you pay for a Hotel Tariff
2) The property is not maintained very well
3) Breakfast sucks, (Probably the breakfast is a part of the tariff and not much attention is paid to it) however the lunch and dinner is good
4) Standard Room is where we stayed as the other rooms very full. Do not stay in the Standard Room unless and until you do not have any other option to stay. Standard Room is a dungeon, looks like it was the servant quarters when the palace was functional when the property was with the king.
5) There is no continuous running hot water in the room.

The best time to visit Mount Abu would be when you visit in the off season. In full season, it is more crowded than Mumbai also. We did not expect that Mount Abu would be so crowded otherwise would have dropped it from our itinerary.

Room Tip: Do not take the Standard Room, it is not the worth the money you pay

from my partner & I, during our 2 night stay here:

- big spacious rooms. Some are more spacious than I'm used to in India. Not a cozy feel
- bathrooms are adequate. Can be cleaner
- we arrived at night. Easy walk from the bus depot. Walking up the hill reminded us of the movies psycho & the shining (even being inside feels like it).
- staff are nice. Nothing out of the ordinary
- wifi is free but only available in lobby

Room Tip: Our room was closest to the kitchen & the walls are paper thin, so take that into consideration...

I stayed here twice and had great experience both the times. This accommodation provides you peaceful stay with perfect natural view of abu. I just love to sit on the terrace which is opposite of patio dining area.

We stayed here for 2 days and the experience was just too good. In fact the team made us feel as if we hired the entire palace and the service was so good by the team.

They served us tea & snack in the balcony , there is enough space to walk around the palace with out any crowd and that makes u have very relaxed feel, The food was good and was always served immediately with a smile.

The palace is located on a elevated place and so its too good to see the sunset view of Mt.Abu, I would highly recommend this place for some one who completely wants time with his family alone in a palace and to be treated like a king.

I am surprised at the negative reviews people have given. We went there in July and found this as a beautiful old-world place where you have large spacious rooms for yourself as well as a lot of open space to loiter around, relax, play. The cost was reasonable considering the rates charged by other similar hotels. One word of caution though... do not expect a posh, modern place. It is an old place and that is why it has that old world charm to it. Food in its restaurant is reasonably good, but they take a lot of time to prepare, so if you are in hurry, not a place to dine.
