“A very pleasant stay”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Friendly accomodating hosts!
My daughter and I stayed for a very enjoyable and relaxing week. Apartment was clean, spacious and with a nice view. The service was first class and the staff, who were mostly members of the family went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We stayed half board and the menu was varied and delicious - home made pizza to die for, which you can watch being made, tossed and cooked in clay oven. The village is a traditional Greek with lots of bars and interesting shops. Peaceful and relaxing pool and facilities. If you want lively night life, Hersonisos is a 20 minute walk away. well worth the 3 star rating. ,

My wife and I have just spent two weeks at the Ariadni Palace. We were made so welcome we felt like part of the family. We'd booked bed and breakfast and on the first morning we were greeted with a giggle and a smile by Ariadne, the owner's daughter. She immediately adopted us, and looked after us throughout our stay. This was our first time at the Ariadni, but our fifth visit to Koutouloufari and the best yet! The staff were brilliant, when we returned late from a meal or a drink elsewhere they all came over to greet us. We felt like royalty, being greeted in turn by Mano, Kosta, Socrates and company. Evangelina made it her personal mission to look after us. I can't thank them enough, even the people I've not named. The hospitality, the smiles, the food, all taken the extra mile. Ariadne fell in love with the pictures of our miniature Yorkie, maybe one day we'll take him over, I'm sure they'll make him welcome as well.

The exact words shouted up to our apartment by Manos at 3am after we had called the rep helpline for three days in a row because of the noise from the bar. Unless you are spending money in the bar Manos does not want to know you. All he is interested in is getting drunk and saving his money to go to Albania gambling in the winter. We had at least three groups complaining about the noise and we were all ignored. This is a beautiful village but avoid these apartments like the plague

We stayed at the Ariadni Apartments in August this year and had a wonderful time. Our party was made up of 5 year old, mum and dad and grandparents. We all found everything about the apartments to be first class. The family that own and run the apartments are so friendly they make you feel like one of the family, we were so sad to leave. The restaurant at the Ariadni is superb. Thomson tried to push us into taking the apartments accross the road from the Ariadni but these apartments were no where near the same standard. The apartments are in a fantastic location, the village is beautiful as are the two villages of Piskopiano and Old Hersonisos nearby.

Have just come back from a week at the Ariadni apartments and had a fantastic time. The rooms were a little basic but suited our needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Manos who went the extra mile. ( Thanks for the Mythos glass.) Pool night was fun and the Greek meal for two is fantastic value for people with big appetites. Views both front and back were stunning. The village was all cobbled streets with plenty of bars and rooftop restaurants overlooking the bay particularly Vinnies Bar for the ambience and Fabrica for the pancakes and banter. If you went for a fortnight you would be lucky to try all of them! Old Hersonissos is a must for Greek night on a Monday with a picturesque village square. 20 minutes walk down to Hersonissos is for people looking for a livelier atmosphere with plenty of bars, clubs and harbour restaurants especially The Marina restaurant for friendly staff and fantastic food and The Cyber Cafe Bar for traditional cold Cretan beer at only 2 Euros a litre. Star Beach is also worth a visit as a culture shock for the over 40's as we are! They never had places like that when we were young! Many romantic evenings to be had - as Arnie says We will be back!!!

we stayed at the ariadni in sept 2007 and absolutely recommend these apartments to anyone .the staff especially Manos went out of their way to both make you feel welcome and to sort out any problems. The pool area can be a bit crowded at peak times but the location within the village and the vilage itself with all the little lights creates a proper greek atmoshpere nothing like sidari in corfu.Meals are reasonably priced, barbecue night a must. a car would be helpful as its a bit of a walk back in the heat up the hill-apart from that there are lovely spots to drive to ,go up to the plateau(old crete) and to the southern part of the island. Go to spingalonga from ag nic .hersonnisis is more lively so its nice to be in a quiet area but its nice at night with all the tavernas and restaurants around the front .sissi is also worth a trip.
again i 100% recommend the ariadni
