Nice basic apartment and perfectly clean. Towels and bedding changed regularly but very basic facilities. Friday evening barbeque would definately recommend , food excellent as were the staff and greek dancing. Unfortunately round the pool bar was not so good, only takes a couple of people to drink too much and ruin it for everyone !! Not enough sunbeds and some towels were never removed from them for the whole duration of our holiday

ood location ten minutes walk into Koutouloufari lovely village with lots of nice tervernas, 15 mins down hill into Hersonisis quite busy with everything you need, you can also walk into Stalis a slow pace approx 60 mins, a further 30 mins into Malia.
Petra village well the trouble is we have stayed at Marni village just up the road 4 times and you always compare Petra is no Marni at all, we had room C21 two balconies both with sea view very nice, apartments are quite small and need a bit of an upgrade, soon as we opened the door first thing you see is a rusty fridge door and a small area with sink and kettle, bathroom is grubby and the sink taps so rusty and over flow outlet mouldy. Luckily my wife had some anti bac wipes and cleaned the best she could. outside area has some nice plants and the apartments all look quite nice, the pool area has a bar with nice views, pool looked a bit dirty and bar area a bit dark, the trouble is we were spoilt at Marni village, this place wouldn't take a lot to bring it up to date.

We arrived on Saturday, today is Friday.
We are sitting, waiting for the person responsible to come and collect the room tax, no one was here when we checked in to do this, the bar man gave us our key.
No receptionist, we had a message through the door to be here between 10 a.m and 2 p.m.......this is our holiday we want to be out enjoying our final day not sitting waiting.
Anyway, Petra village is run down surprised Jet2 still use it. Rooms are very basic, the pool is quite dirty, the spa pool is full of green algae, gardens are neglected. The hairdryer in our room glowed hot but no blowing! Beds are mattresses on concrete. Two rings for cooking are disgusting, need replacing or just binned. We asked for another room but it was the same tbh. Shower is small even by greek standards.
We have made the best of it by being out 99% of the time.
The shining light here is Betty the maid, always cheerful and busy. The guy at the bar is helpful, but 2 people cannot run a place this size.
We come to Greece alot, dont expect 5* but please address the tattiness of Petra village, it could be beautiful, the views are stunning, if you can see past the old rusty tanks.

I have tried to be as honest as possible in this review and listed positives as well but to be honest there are not many.
Stayed in apartment B2 with my husband and daughter.
Location - 5 min walk to a small authentic town with about 30 fantastic restaurants, craft and gift shops, ATM, tavernas, and small supermarkets. 15 min walk down the hill to the big town, very touristy and busy with everything you need from supermarkets, water sports, pools, beaches, shops etc etc. The hill is very very steep so if you suffer with mobility issues this is not the hotel for you.
The room was a 2* at best. 2 small beds in the living area made up of mattresses on a concrete base and a double bed in a bedroom with one tiny wardrobe which wasn’t enough for 3 people.
The floor was dirty, the kitchen area was grubby, and plugs were hanging off the wall and not safe to use.
The shower is tiny in the bathroom and we only got hot water twice throughout the whole ten days staying.
The outside area with a table abs chairs was tiny and got no sun.
The kitchen was basic, but quite dirty. All in all one of the worse apartments I have stayed in.
The pool area was nice, clean and well kept, except people put towels on the sun beds from 8.am and there were not enough sun beds for the amount of people.
The bar area was ok, serving basic food but no card machine so bring cash. Staff seemed friendly enough.
Great location but wouldn’t return

Recently returned from the Petra Village apartment, I will start with the positives it’s situation is a beautiful location and can be the only thing which gives this establishment a 3* rating. So if your looking for a base and happy to live out of your suitcase I would say, go for it. The pool area is nice, with a shower and toilet. The sun beds are a mix between blue mesh ones and the horrendous hard plastic. Although self catering no food or drinks allowed round the pool from your room or the local shop, don’t think you can sneak them round as you will be embarrassed in-front of everyone if caught out ! I wandered down with my cup of tea in a reusable lidded cup, which was sharply removed from me.
On arrival in the early hours of the morning their was no body at reception, the bar man saw us on cctv, came down told us to go right and right again and we would find our room, no welcome, offer of help. In fact after dragging cases and two tired children another resident helped us locate our room. 21B which was up a flight of stairs , with no number and near room 12 !
On entering the room my heart sank, it was tiny. And if it is meant to cater for 4 adults one wardrobe in the double room does not suffice ! Nor provides any privacy if you have to keep wandering into another bedroom for your clothes, also massive lack of mirrors, definitely needed one in lounge/sleeping area, again a privacy issue .We had no kettle which came 2days later after several requests and a meet up with the rep, the way things were plugged in was dangerous, the bin had no lid, the toilet didn’t work and the only storage for kitchen utensils was a plastic tray under the damp smelling sink. It would be impossible to have gone fully self catering on this holiday, due to lack of amenities, just a mobile 2 ring cooker and microwave, that aside, we had to move furniture onto the balcony to get any space. We had no bin lids and the two single beds were no way suitable for adults, a mattress on a concrete base. The only air con unit ( payable) was again in the double bedroom, so people in there had to sleep with their door open for the air con to reach the single beds.
It seemed the same people at bar ran reception, so usually reception had a sign “go to bar” well I certainly don’t like discussing any issues I had, over a bar with people listening and interrupting.
We were able to pay €20 to keep room longer as we had a late flight which was a bonus. The staff were pleasant but the hotel was a massive disappointment and no where near 3 star.
Again, pool area nice, beds hard, room tiny, no storage, location great it’s a bit like camping !
