So we booked 3 seats on this trip for hubster, the small one and myself. €42 for adults €21 for the 4 year old (outrageous!). We knew that lunch wasn't included but we didn't know that no entry fees for any of the stops were also not included!

First stop, Zeus' cave on the Lassithi plateau. Beautiful drive up there winding up mountain after mountain. €6 entry per person into the cave. Hubster went in, hilly walk up and then 200 steps down into the cavern. Bit of a safety hazard according to him! Not enough lighting also let the ambience down when he arrived at the bottom. Couple of nice cafes to hang about in whilst waiting for him to return.

Next stop, some nunnery in the mountains. Not really our thing so we didn't venture in. €2 per person.

Another hour in the bus over to the taverna in the tiny village of Smari that the bus company had chosen for lunch. Crammed in like sardines and no visible menu with clear pricing. We escaped and went exploring with another rebellious couple. Delighted to find a tiny raki/wine producer selling their products for €5/500ml and a tiny taverna just up the hill where we got enormous sandwiches crammed with local cheese and salad (and ice cream for the small one). Sat outside in the sun, very nice.

On to an excellent pottery in Thrapsano next. Watched some master craftsman throw pots like a pro. Opportunities for us to have a go, much to his amusement. This was FREE!

Last stop Knossos... at 4pm... lonely planet guide (Feb 2016 edition) said it was €6 for adults to go in. What a fib! It was a mighty €15 each to get in. Kids free. We had about 1h45 there then back to the coach for the return back.

So our €42 per person trip ended up costing more like €60+ per person plus lunches/shopping/drinks. Just be aware! Take plenty of cash!

Final thing, collected at the well in Koutoulafari by two little cars, ours without seatbelts accessible. Bus too large to get up to the village. Taxi was called for us to return up the hill to our apartments on our return... and was about to charge us €5 for the pleasure. I think not my friend!!!

we ordered the trip as part of our crete vacation and payed a substantial amount of money in order to do this experience.
The weather was not good and it was raining the whole way so eventually we never drove off road and just drove around at 40 kph in a jeep that was like a tiny show box and was leaking everywhere. We arrived at our destination only to stay inside a small tavern and watched the beach from afar. After 3 hours of staying there bored out of our mind ,we drove back wet and dissatisfied through the main road again. This was definitely NOT a jeep safari and it was even like a punishment and a waste of our precious vacation time. We spent 110€!!! And we definitely did not get what we bargained for. Even though the weather could not be avoided the entire management of the trip could have been done differently. They could have cancelled the trip as soon as you saw the weather and give us our money (or part of it) and some of our time back . They could have thought of a plan B to go somewhere else in case of bad weather (obviously not a beach where they knew we will be stuck there for 3 hours), they could have given us a heads up on the evolvement of things and not just make decisions without our knowledge, or they could have manage our expectations and tell us that in case of bad weather we will have to think of something else to do. In conclusion the planning of the trip and our experience was totally not worth the money we payed for! And don't bother reaching out to them they never reply... do yourself a favor and avoid this torture

Went on a gorge walk organised by this company. Very well organised with a lovely friendly guide who ensured all the different nationalities were catered for.

We booked two day trips with Eye Travel and I can honestly say I have never had such enjoyable or good value excursions anywhere else.
The first was Interesting Crete - a trip to Spinalonga Island, with time to explore the lovely towns of Elounda and Plaka. It ended with a tour of an olive oil factory, with tastings and no pressure to buy products. We were picked up at 9am and dropped back at our hotel around 5pm, without the usual tedious touring of endless other hotels, as they use minibuses with a maximum of 8 people.
We also did the Knossos and Wine-Tasting tour. This took us to Knossos from Koutouloufari in just half an hour, so we missed the crowds and we're able to enjoy a peaceful exploration of the site. Be warned; doing the same trip by public transport can take hours! We then went to a lovely vineyard, which only takes small groups so we had a very personalised tasting of great wines, followed by lunch, which included a much appreciated veggie option. Then we went to a pottery and each got to throw a pot, which was fun.
In both tours, the driver/guides provide as much information as you ask for and answer questions knowledgeably. Also, the buses are allocated by language, so you don't have to sit through the same explanation 5 times.
The best part was that the guides and their office colleagues on both tours were super-friendly and we felt like we'd had two amazing girls' days out!

Full day and plenty of off-road driving. We were asked if we wanted to drive ourselves but much preferred to be driven. Beautiful scenery and the chance to visit rare places and see a different side of Crete. Viola was excellent as a guide and driver.Well worth the bumpy ride and dusty clothes. Highly recommended.
