The Hotel has a good location. We could walk down to many restaurants and also the town of Hersionosis within 10-15 minutes. (Its an uphill walk so a little strenuous). But for the island it is great. We hired a car and went for day trips to Herklion (30 min drive) , Agio Nikaulas (1 hr drive) and Chania (2 hr drive).
A lot of restaurants are around this hotel, we could visit only 4 as the rest were closed in last week of March. Most of them open in April 1st week for the season. We found a nice place for breakfast in Hersionosis and had dinner in a different restaurant every evening.
The resort is comfortable and the rooms have a fuctional kitchen. You have grocery stores nearby for cooking up something basic in a hurry.
Anne and Manaulis are very helpful. They were full of advice on how to plan our week in Crete. The rooms were services once in two days and they had some activities in the hotel (we never got time to use it). The Hotel is on a slope so you enter in the reception and walk up to your rooms.
Overall I would say a good base to have for your trip to Crete, away from the hustle bustle.
