We went her hoping for a great holiday in a nice village and it was a great place to stay staff lovely clean rooms always pool and pool table very nice and not far front the beach perfect accommodation

This was our 2nd holiday at Sunrise, but 3rd in Koutouloufari. The village is a lovely place, with amazing people. Sunrise apartments are a brilliant base to explore the area. 5 minutes walk to the village of Koutouloufari which has some excellent places to eat and drink, another 5 minutes walk to the village of Piskopiana, another 10 minutes walk to Old Hersonnisos. If you want the hustle and bustle of the main town of Hersonnisos it is approx. 15minute walk downhill - watch out on the way back - it can be very tiring in the full heat of the summer - taxi's are approx. 7euro. Sunrise have great rooms: the maisonettes are lovely. The staff are all wonderful and so helpful and the grounds are kept very clean and tidy. Pool area is fab. There is a great covered area for the kids with a pool table - where they love to hang out! Safety deposit boxes are based in reception; I think they were 20euro for the fortnight. I would highly recommend using the air-con in summer (5 euros a day - but well worth it) TIP: Take mosquito spray, and plug-ins (they supply them at sunrise too and also sell in the supermarket over the road) Sunset supermarket is very good, with a bakery attached. People tend to book year after year at Sunrise. We are going back to Koutouloufari this year, unfortunately Sunrise were booked up for our dates but we will call in and see the Sunrise family! My family and myself have been visiting The Sunrise apartments every year for the last 15-16 years! I love this place, its like a 2nd home! It is a family owned and run resort and they are amazing, I like to think of them as my extended family! They will do anything they can to help, their customer service is the best you will find, and they always make sure your holiday is relaxing and fun.You will find that most people who stay here are repeat customers and eventually they also become like your holiday family, as every time you go you're bound to see people you've seen on previous years. Sadly I havent been able to make it over the last couple of years but my mum and dad still visit twice a year, every year, without fail. I am hoping to return next year as I miss the amazing people ,the great food, the great atmosphere and the weather! If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Crete this is the ONLY place I would recommend. Location is amazing, on a hillside looking out at the sea, the village has great restaurants, and if you're looking for something slightly busier all you need to do is walk down to Hersonissos where you will find beaches, plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and things to do.
