The Villa Chrisanthi is situated on the outskirts of the village Grizata, close to Sami. Directions to the villa were given by the wonderful host Dimitris who met us at the villa. He gave us information on local tavernas, bakeries and supermarkets and also suggested places to visit. The villa was clean and comfortable. The sheets and towels were changed twice weekly and the cleaner was friendly. The two bedrooms are a good size. The bathroom is a reasonable size but also contains a washing machine (as most villas do) and made it feel a little cramped, especially beside the toilet, however it is all functional. The downstairs toilet and basin is fine. We found the living space comfortable. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and it all worked. The patio area had table and chairs which we used to look out at the surrounding area and watch the local cats come by. The swimming pool is a very good size and was used daily. The location of this villa makes a superb base for exploring Kefalonia. We would like to thank Dimitris personally for looking after us so well, above and beyond expectations.
The villa is amazing! Very clean and comfortable. The pool and patio area is lovely too. Beautiful views as well. This is a great base to explore the island. Demitris is an excellent host, greeted us on arrival with yummy cakes and also helped us with directions. Demitris also kindly left us a delicious cake during our stay which we thoroughly enjoyed - thank you! Would highly recommend this villa and Kefalonia.
Villa Chrisanti is a quiet yet amazing villa. We stayed there for just a weekend after exploring the beautiful Greece for a week and Dimitris is an amazing host. He was very helpful with helping us to get to the villa, reccommending a good car rental and he waited to welcome us in the villa with a lovely treat for us. He told us about the villa, the nearabouts and the Kefalonian island and what to see. The villa is located in a quiet area, but very close to everything, it has a beautiful view of the valley and everything you need to relax. Many thanks to Dimitris for helping us out with everything and hopefully we'll see you again one day!
My family and I recently stayed in a beautiful villa in the village of Grizzatta. This was the perfect spot for our Greek Island vacation! The tiny town of Grizzatta is centrally located from hot spots such as Sami, Argostoli, and Agia Effimia. The villa is also a near drive to many picture perfect beaches and delicious authentic restaurants. Demetri and his family, the owners, made our stay relaxing and stress free. He really prided himself on making sure everything in his villa was clean and accessible. It was so relaxing every morning waking up with the French doors open, feeling that light island breeze. The kids had a blast swimming in the inground pool while the adults basked in the sun on the loungers poolside. For a small island, there was plenty to do and never a dull moment. From the donkey rides right down the road throughout the countryside in Grizzatta, to our midnight strolls along the boardwalk for desserts down in Sami (a 5 minute drive), to shopping for souvenirs and goodies up in Argostoli (about a 30 minute drive), our family had one of the most memorable vacations by far! Thank you Demitri for the wonderful customer service given and for letting us be a part of what you are lucky to call home. The photos don't do Villa Chrysanthe justice! We cannot wait for a return trip back to the villa to visit the locals and to escape again from all the commotion and rushing of everyday life here in the States. Our stay was everything I had expected and more for our Greek island getaway.
We stayed for two weeks at Villa Chrisanthi and it was wonderful.
On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly owner, Dimitris. He showed us around and was able to give advice on some of the best places to go and what to see.
The villa was very clean and spacious, it had everything we needed to make it a comfortable stay. The swimming pool and paved area were nice and clean - we loved relaxing in the afternoon sun; and when it got too hot we enjoyed reading under the large parasol.
There was a big barbeque which we used a lot. It was great to be able to sit out and eat our evening meal whilst watching and listening to the local wildlife. A favourite sound was the chime of the goats' bells - they were always somewhere nearby.
A cleaner would visit every three days and would provide us with fresh bed linen and clean towels.
The villa is in a small, peaceful village and we often took an evening stroll to explore the area on foot. It is well worth walking down past the donkey sanctuary to the old stone bridge - it really was like stepping back in time.
We would suggest the drive through the pine forest to the top of Mount Ainos as the views were breathtaking and there weren't many other visitors around.
Another suggestion would be to visit the 'ghost village' of Old Vhalata, near Sami - it was a very humbling experience. We walked through the ruins of the village and gained a real sense of the devastation caused by the 1953 earthquake.
A trip to Argostoli in the morning is definitely worth doing as the Loggerhead turtles swim around the fishermen's boats to feed as they come into the harbour.
Foki beach was our favourite - tranquil and very pretty.
Thank you Dimitris and Niki for being such welcoming hosts. We really enjoyed eating the icecream cake and drinking the wine but what we loved the most was the delicious baklava you gave us half way through our holiday!
I would highly recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a quiet and relaxing time on Kefalonia. The island is beautiful and the Greek people are incredibly friendly.
Many thanks, Sara & Mike
Villa Chrisanthi is a beautiful villa set in an ideal location to explore Kefalonia.
The owner, Dimitris, was extremely helpful and made sure that we had all the information and details that we needed upfront and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. He owns two villas at this location, so whether you are looking for a family stay or even a larger group, there is accommodation.
The villa itself is spotless and has a very large and immaculately clean swimming pool. Full air conditioning and equipped kitchen / utilities. We also cooked a couple of times using the large outside charcoal bbq.
The location is the village of Grizata and set above the main town of Sami with a short drive to the restaurants, small port and shops.
Our preference is the beaches on the northern part of Kefalonia and this is the perfect spot with local beaches within 10 minutes and less than an hour to get to the most northern beaches. If you prefer the southern island beaches then these are also easily accessible.
The villa was perfect and so was everything about our stay on this beautiful island!
Dimtris is a fantastic owner who greeted us on our arrival gave us a tour of the villa, told us about the local area and left us with cakes, ice creams and wine. The villa is perfectly situated for travelling all over the island where now where is more than an hour away. The villa has everything you need when staying away dishwasher, washing machine and wifi. The pool is huge, there is plenty of space to eat al fresco and a cleaner comes half way though the week changing bed linen and giving fresh towels. It's in a truely peaceful location with fantastic fees of the surrounding hills I rally would recommend this villa to anyone you will not be disappointed.
