The Hotel Pericles is just that....a hotel, it's not a disco! or a youth club. It is somewhere you can unwind with great staff / Management and surroundings. We have been there on quite a few occasions over the years and it hasn't changed, except the chairs / stools in the lobby / bar area, oh and the pictures in the rooms lol. This is why people come back here time and time again. They feel at ease the moment you walk in the door.

We normally go Independently so the Hotel get more money and we get little extras like Tv, fridge. Just give them a call and you can get a price strieght away which is a lot cheaper than going through holiday companies. You can get a taxi from the airport or hire a car and drive there with ease.

There are two round pools. One for toddlers where the water is about 3 feet deep and the other pool starts about 5 foot in the shallow up to about 8 foot deep at the deep end.
There is also a pool bar where you can get some food and drinks. A Tennis court is also in this area.

The bar is well stocked and closes at midnight, i believe this is for legal reasons and it also lets other Hotel users a bit of piece.

There are no Evening meals in the hotel restaurant, but if you ask they will get you bar snacks and ham & cheese toasties. Breakfast is self service with a variety of food to start your day. Toast, Cornflakes, Ham, boiled eggs, cheese, Greek yogurt with honey, bread Tea & Coffee and orange juice. If you would like a full English they will provide one at a small fee. You can eat your breakfast in the dining area or out on the veranda looking at the amazing mountains of Kefalonia.

We just spent twelve nights there, anywhere else just wouldn't be the same. Nina is a star. She will do anything she can to make your stay just the way you want it. Stelios ( Papous Stelios ) is the Manager. Some people think he is a little grumpy.... that is not true he has a brilliant sense of humour if you let yourself get to know him you will find this out. He is a proud man and takes his hotel very seriously. you can ask him anything he also will try and help or he will find someone who can. Stelios even took us to the ferry at 07:30 on our last morning, in his mercedes because the Taxis were taking to long.

The Town of Sami is about ten minutes stroll away. You can either walk straight down the main road to the main square and harbour area or there is a more scenic well lit road behind the hotel that brings you out a little further up the other end of the beach road.

The Beach is pebbles and shingle. It doesn’t look the best beach in the world, but if you just walk along it you will find beautiful coves at one end and the other end less pebbles with a gentle slope into the water.

There are plenty of restaurants’ and bars in Sami but it's not loud and after 8 at night they close the main road where the shops and bars and restraints are, to cars so it safe to walk around and for children to play.

Thanks Everyone can't wait to see you all soon.

I think that people need real information about this hotel so they can make an informed decision.
The hotel is ok in terms of accomodation. But realize that you get what you paid for.
The tennis court and the swimming pool closed every day exactly at 7pm. Why??? In the evening where there is not much to do around in the hotel, why close the tennis court and the pool so early.
There is no fridge and TV in the room. No internet access unless you bring your laptop down the hall and connect to the wireless network only visible in the hall. Again, the internet is shut down at midnight like the bar.
The bathroom has no bath tub but just a shower in a very small cubicle.
The bed is really hard, the mattress is thin.
The air conditionning does not really work, got the feeling is working like a very noisy fan at most.
Sometimes in the evening, there is no professional staff around except the owner, who doesn not speak english. Not great for communication.
Moral of the story. You don't pay much, so you won't get much.

Kefalonia, whats not to like? Our third visit to the island, and the first to Sami, which is so lovely, surrounded by mountains, the scenery is breathtaking, and the smells of herbs and flowers (gardenias and jasmine in abundance while we were there) is glorious. The Pericles is in quite a rural setting, so the sight of the shepherd bringing his flock from one field to another to graze is like going back in time and wonderful to watch, there are the sounds of the cockerels, the tinkling of goat and sheep bells, all so lovely , and you`re relaxing around the lovely pool, taking in these sights and sounds, bliss.
We had a late deal and so were not expecting too much, just wanted to go to Kefalonia! wW e were VERY pleasantly surprised on arrival at the Pericles. It is so lovely and clean, comfortable and friendly, a credit to all who work there. The evening of our arrival I asked for an extra pillow each, expecting them next day, but within 10 mins they were in our room. The breakfast is continental and you are given quite a wide choice, the yoghurt and honey delish! Would not hesitate to return , just give me theoppurtunity. For a relaxing holiday, with lovely tavernas I would highly recommend Sami and definatley the Pericles.

The hotel is clean, slightly better than your average Greek hotel and very well managed. The manager is a spitting image for Robert DeNiro and all staff are efficient and friendly. Don't expect an all night party there is a sign over the bar announcing that it shuts at 12.30. Also the air conditioning goes off around midnight so it does get hot in the small hours.

What can I say about Kefalonia. It is a truly wonderful Island and this year was our fourth year and I can not wait to go back . Each time we have stayed at the Hotel Pericles and the Staff are just Brilliant
Especially Mr Stelios and the lovely Nina.
The hotel is Clean and Just Far away from the centre of Sami to be quite ( Watch Out for Bob The donkey and the cockerels interrupting you peace and quiet)
A car is a must so you can see the Island ( you must go to Asos, Fiscardo and Anti Samos Beach)
There are some really good places to eat, they include Sprios in Aghia Efimia ( who serve the best cheesecake ever), The Dolphin in Sami and The Moonlight Which in the mountains just outside of Sami
Sami is my second home and I can not wait to get back there.
