The lake view bungalow is very nice, because all facilities are using solar power, there are few hours in the day has no power supply. The back yard is big can see many birds. The food is just ok, or everything else is good.

Room Tip: choose the lake view bungalow, remember few hours in the day has no power supply

Stayed for 2 days as part of a safari tour. The location is stunning and the view from our lodge over Lake Victoria was beautiful. The lodge itself was more basic than we had become used to but maybe that was due the previous high standards at Sopa and Serena lodges. It was nice to sit out on the veranda and watch the birds monitor lizard and crocodile, we also went on a bird watching walk led by George (barman) and in less than 2 hours saw 50 species!
The only disappointment was the food, there were only 2 choices at each meal and the quality of each we had was very poor and not up to the standard we had come to expect (this was despite the efforts of our waiter Adam who tried his best but this could not disguise poor quality and presentation)
Overall nice location pity about the food

Our family stayed just one night in 3 of the beach front lodges, if we had known just how good this place was we would have stayed more. The location is stunning, the buildings are just right, well appointed with excellent bathrooms and beds, with amazing views. The meals where outstanding, the bar well stocked and staff friendly and efficient.
We took the boat trip to the village and this was authentic and a real eye opener.
The bird life around the lodge was worth the stay and to top it off a Fish Eagle was nesting in a large tree right outside the restaurant.
Highly recommended!

This lodge is built in the style of Tanzanian huts with thatched peaked roof but interestingly, at least in the rooms, the ceiling is made of either aluminium or galvanised iron. It is located on the shores of Lake Victoria that can have various moods but the place is secluded and very peaceful. One can walk around the deserted shores of Lake Victoria and watch all kinds of birds from the deck outside most lodges. They also have tented accommodation which is not on the lakes' shores. The rooms are very spacious with possibility of more than a couple in the room with upstairs "children's" beds. They use a generator as well as solar power. The dining menu is limited and there is no buffet. Breakfast, limited choice of food and drinks, can be had on the deck overlooking the lake. The manager is from netherlands and speaks extremely well and is very knowledgeable. Take lots of mosquito repellant, you will need it.

Room Tip: If you can afford it go for a lodge as the tents are not on the lake's shore

We stayed in the tented lodges and were comfortable. We were the only people staying in that part so it wasn't too difficult to share the showers and toilets.

I was most impressed with the service and friendliness of the workers. I introduced myself to one worker, Adam, who remembered my name as well as the names of other members of our family he met. It was definitely appreciated.

It was like an oasis. After the early mornings n bumping around in the game drive vehicle, it was just wonderful to totally relax in a lovely setting right on the edge of Lake Victoria. The local staff have been extremely well trained. If this had been in the Caribbean it wud b rated 6 * My husband n I loved it

No place on earth could be as relaxing as spending two nights in one of their beech front rondavels, on the shore of Lake Victoria. A beautiful and restful place. The visit by canoe to the local fishing village is not to be missed and is both upsetting and uplifting in equal measures. George the barman does an excellent job on the bird walk, managing to find 22 species. However, the reduced voltage available, perhaps to be expected in an eco lodge, causes problems with electrical appliances.
