I was driving past on the way from Whistler to Vancouver so decided to take an unplanned stop at the Britannia Mine Museum.
It was a bit of a wet day so there wasn't a lot of people around - to me that made it better!
I took a look around on the self guided walk and then met for the underground experience. This was the BEST part!
You hope on an old mining train and head underground/into the mountain to get a idea of the conditions that the old miners faced. Nothing is as good as getting in and seeing it for real and the guided tour gives you that chance!
I was a little hesitant at first, but felt safe the whole time we were 'inside' the operation.
Once we came out we then entered the Massive sheds and were given a bit more info and more of a tour.
Overall a really good stop and I'm really happy I found this great place! I've also told a lot people about this (including Vancouver locals) and everyone who has reported back to me told me how great they found it too!
