Black River Cafe is one of Suttons few treasures. On the surface it seems like a cool little coffee place - quite modern, great coffee, cappuccino, espresso - specialty coffees etc. Small selection of food but a good one (love it if there was some gluten free, but you can't have it all!). The real joy in this place is once you start heading into the back of the building. There is a rear dining area overlooking a gorgeous back patio. Some comfy chairs, a little fireplace... great magazine selection! In the cooler months I like to come here to work away on my laptop or just have a moment for myself. When the sun is shining you will find me on the dock lounging in a Muskoka chair taking in the pretty Black River and listening to the birds sing. It is a lovely experience!! There is tons of room on the patio which overlooks the dock and river as well. Very prettily landscaped... it is a little oasis. One of the many reasons I do not regret moving away from Toronto for the lakeside lifestyle - it is the very best of both worlds!
