Club Mahindra Kumarakom

I really recommend kottayam travellers to stay in golden waters.

Firstly, the way the resort is constructed is really a beautiful and soothing sight for any person seeking a quiet, peaceful holiday....The resort has lush green gardens cut across by narrow streams of backwaters, lined by cocunut trees and is very clean and well-maintained. The orange bridges across the backwaters inside the resort and the pretty cottages distant from one another is what makes this resort so unique in its appearance so good. So the visual appeal is really good with the cleanliness and maintainance.

Secondly, the staff in the reception and restaurant left no stone unturned to make us feel so much welcome and comfortable with their hospitality. I was sparticularly impressed with the restaurant staff who were really courteous. The buffets there are also quite good with a lot of variety, and is kind of multi-cuisined. The food is also good, served in earthen containers...its a different experience and you actually get your break you so wanted in your holiday.

Thirdly, the facilities provided like cycling, pottery, indoor and outdoor games are also well provided for. The reception staff will do all bookings for you - cruise or taxis. they also have an ayurvedic center where you can get massages and spas done.

So basically an all-in-all resort where you dont need to step out to get your entertainment...you can spend a whole lot of time inside the resort. even the cruise will drop you back in the backwaters to which this resort is directly connected. No hassles to go via road to a water station to catch the cruise. Dont expect a five star ambience with its reasonable prices!! Its a non-glamourpus place for people wanting a break frm the city life and the natural scenery in and around the resort is breathtaking and typical of kerela like peaceful holidays!!I The resort is real good value for money!!

The only adverse point i can think of is the Airconditioners in the rooms.. I just felt they were not adequate for the room size, leaving it very hot at times. But as we spent most of the time at the pool/ backwaters,.. it dint bother us so much!

Nothing is there at the resort,it resembles a local lodge in a township.Food was horrible. Service was not at all good. Rooms were not properly cleaned. Recreational facilities are not there. Staff is not at all friendly.Dont cheat guest by giving this resort anymore and not to recommend also. The rooms was messy and dirty and no water, electricity etc... To cap it all the food we got was horrible... They refused to go to the room even after you spoke to the resort and demanded to be shifted to another place
