As a guest of this resort, we recently attended the restaurant for dinner. We were not aware of the buffet and were pleasantly surprised with the contents for the price. There were two soups, six salads, 6 or 7 keralan style entrees, 7 or 8 north indian dishes, 2 western style dishes, 2 middle eastern style dishes, 2 asian style dishes, and several desserts. Bread is additionally made to order and brought to the table. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. The buffet was priced at Rs. 1100 and was served from 1900 to 2300, I believe. Just be aware of a hefty tax on any imported liquors.
During the dinner time hours, it appears that either live music or dancing in the nearby ampitheater provides entertainment. The outdoor veranda is lovely with large fans keeping the warm air moving.

Excellent quality food, the spread is decent. I would like to have experienced some more authentic dishes in the buffet spread, such as idiyappam & egg roast.

Upon my request Abhilash (duty manager) specially organised Appam & Chicken stew. It was truly awesome!

My husband and i went to zuri kumarakom for lunch on 21-4-14.
The restaurant is lime tree which serves multi-cuisine.we were happy because north indian is our fav.
But to our shock we came to learn that since we were not their in-house guest they started neglecting us.
The f&b manager bobby was talking to all the other guest barring us.it was a terrible experience.suggest people to think twice before going for lunch or dinner if you are not staying with them.

The village of Kumarakom weaves in and out, amidst the palms and coconuts, along the east coast of Vembanadu lake. it is on this side of the lake that the resort hotels are located, each one with commanding a magnificent view of the setting sun.

One such resort, the Zuri, has the Lime tree restaurant, overlooking landscaped banks along a private inlet of the lake. Although it is customary to reserve a table, we walked up to the Zuri Resort for lunch without a reservation, and a polite guard let us in through barred gates only after he phoned the resort , presumably to find out if they would take walk in diners.

The Lime Tree is a large square restaurant built in Kerala style, plate glass French windows on its two sides. Although it was tempting to sit inside, where the air-conditioning made it cooler, we preferred the broad verandah with its slow whirling ceiling fans that gently circulated the balmy February breeze.

The menu is extensive, but if you dont wish to be tempted, dont go looking to see what is on offer at the Buffet. we were tempted, we looked, and wound up over indulging.

We skipped the soups in favour of the salads- there were half a dozen types on offer, all displayed in tiny shot sized glasses. We selected a mixed sea food salad, and a lettuces and cucumber with feta cheese salad: Both tiny, but excellent.

The main course included Oriental, Indian, and Italian foods. We took a little from each. The lasagna, though fresh with spinach, was a little chewy. The Indian fare- mostly north Indian, was mildly spiced and very filling. The oriental food- noodles, sweet and sour vegetables, a Thai chicken curry, could have been avoided, were we not indulging in gluttony.

The best was the curd rice- a South Indian speciality- and Crab in coconut and Kerala spices. Excellect. It had been cooked , shelled, and kept ready to eat. I wish they had provided us with crab crackers to break the additional shells to better reach the white claw meat.

The deserts were too numerous, but the sliced strawberry panacota and cardimum ice cream deserve a special mention.
