“Good Value For Money”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

We stayed here for 4 nights during the monsoons last time. It is a nice hotel with very good views of the backwaters. It is a good 4 hours drive from Cochin airport. Service is good and the rooms are made in traditional Kerala architecture. They also have a houseboat service which is great. Only drawback is that the floors and tiles in the hotel compound are very slippery and you have to be extra careful when it rains. Food is average. Overall a good value for money.

We stayed two nights in this resort and it is an awesome place. When u reach the car parking you have no idea about the beautiful place that Is in store for for U. You have to take a boat from the parking to reach the resort. It is a small and beautifully maintained place. The rooms are also very clean. In the middle of the resort they have a big swimming pool and this directly overlooks the vembanad lake. The management was very co-operative and allowed us to have our wedding photoshoot here at no extra charges. The food at their restaurant is also very good.

Room Tip: All the rooms spacious and the same

I stayed here on my recent trip to kumarakom but this resort dint quite live upto the image what I had formed before reaching here:

Booking was through central reservations where even after my complete transfer of funds no body bothered to send me a conformation mail in spite of multiple reminders, but somehow it went thru.

Only way to reach to the resort is via boat what the resort readily provides once you reach their parking and this is a good experience in itself.

Welcome at the resort was again warm with a decent reception.

We were given our suites at 11 am in spite of their check in time at 1 so that's one thumbs up for them.

Rooms are just ok with minimalistic design but the fixtures are all showing their age, even you need to have good amount of muscle to open the bathroom door.

Cleanliness is nothing much to write back about.

You want to wash your face and here comes a big surprise the water here is completely saline as good as sea water which you can't even use for face wash forget bath.

The resort doesnt have a desalination plant.

Food quality and variety both are on the downside here.

Just a small but clean pool.

U wanna go to gym here, don't even think of that as it looks as if never cleaned from ages and full of spider webs.

Next day we were supposed to shift to the family suite due to paucity of rooms and here an even bigger surprise was waiting for us.

This one is just a make shift room as part of the reception itself, full of disturbance, not at all clean, very small rooms also we had some girls sandals already lying there for ages.

Over all not a resort if you wanna come here for a holiday for relaxation but for us it was a professional trip to a conference so was just ok.

This resort needs a seroius interest by the management to sort all the above issues.

Room Tip: Never ever choose the family suite.....try going in for suite no 20 as this one offers direct view o...

Definitely the place where You "must stay" if Kumarakom is in Your travel itinerary.
Great view, tranquility, good pool, relaxing atmosphere.... and more.
Hotel is disconnected from "mainland" and stay for more than 2-3 days can become boring. All space You have for walk is just ~ 100x60 m.
Unfortunately hotel has no kayaks - very suitable activity.
The minus is they have only 5 sunbeds near pool.
