best in kumarakom...if u r in this resort be sure to select the boat house rather than villas because it is their speciality.... the pool was awesome...was enjoying for almost 4 hours.... good place for family and honeymooners.... plan well ahead cause they may b sold out during seasons and festivals....

Room tip: boat house is a better preference....

The hotel has been an excellent experience for me & my wife as a honeymooner.i have stayed here twice.
6 months back , i booked the hotel thru a local kerala tour operator & i was charged heavy. When i went to the hotel , there were many things that were not told to me.The staff of the hotel said that they were not informed & nothing can be done. The stay & experience was good but i felt a little offended by the rates mentioned by the hotel manager & taken by the tour operator.

This time i booked online thru hotel's official channel partner, Antilog Vacations.Amazingly the rates offered were much lower than published rates & hotel staff was welcoming. They even offered rooms located at good views & were caring.

Everything else seemed good , the second time.I have this feeling that Hotel guys prefer people to book through their channel partners for better rates & services. They charge you heavily if u try to book thru someone else & wont be very helpful.

Having said that i would say that hotel is great property with all the amazing facilities but this bias was just a little surprising for me

Room tip: Front view are good

On this stretch of backwater, this property wins hands down. It's exotic, clean, traditional and envelopes you in the charm of Kerala. Must do's here is a full body massage, sunset cruise and morning cruise along the lagoons and bird sanctuary. stayed in a villa with private pool which was great. even the villas with common pool is very good.

Took a bike and visited other well know resorts along the strip and would have been gutted had we stayed anywhere else.

Room tip: room with private pools are great!!

Great location right on the lakeshore. Comfortable accommodation, well maintained and with some excellent features such as the 200m long swimming pool that runs past a number of chalets. This effectively means you have your own (semi) private pool.

Evening sundowner cruise with live music is great, particularly as there is no charge for this.

Sea food restaurant is very good with great attentive service.

The downside, and it is limited, is that it is all a bit 'corporate'. The lodge seems set up to cater for the european travel trade and as such lacks any sort of local feeling. The buffet style cafe could be anywhere in the world at a 4/5 star resort. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing to complain about but there is nothing very much that will make you realise you are in India.

This is fine if you want to be insulated from the full on experience, and India can be intimidating for first time visitors. So if you want to visit and take in the stunning backwater location and be realatively 'safe' then I am sure you will enjoy your stay.

Room tip: Go for the poolside chalet closest to the reception if you can, it is quiet and private.
