This was the second time we were staying at this beautiful resort and we absolutely love it! Such a little gem! A lovely property - the rooms are beautiful and well appointed with the entire resort constructed in the traditional Kerala style. Each room has a unique wall mural which is a nice touch and the beds are super comfy! The open showers in the bathrooms are lovely too! The property has 2 pools - a meandering pool running through the resort and an infinity pool ...both are beautiful and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed them each time.
As for the food - there is an extensive spread for each meal and the Kerala specialities are to die for!! They also organise great backwater cruises on the traditional houseboats which is a unique experience. The Ayurveda spa is great ...be sure to try their massages
Overall, this is a lovely, relaxing place ... I would love to visit again and again!!

We stayed at the property for 3 nights with one night on houseboat.
The first impression once u enter the hotel is not very impressive. But slowly and surely it starts to grows on you. The front office staff is competent and the check inn was smooth.
Our stay in the houseboat was marred by unclean and dirty bedsheets which they thouroughly changed after the complaint but it kinda spoiled the mood. The trip on the backwaters on the houseboat is enchanting . So i'll rather advise u to take the houseboat on a day cruise rather then spending the night.
Their rooms and pool villas are rather spacious and very well maintained. They have an open bathroom and thats where the problems starts. Because of the high density of greenery and vegetation there is an occasional problem of lizards and bugs in the bathroom. However to the credit of housekeeping staff they did pest control whenever i called them , even at 1 am in the night.
The pools are the biggest hit of this property. The food is good and the restaurent staff is very attentive and warm in their service to the guests. The property is very well maintained and certainly worth a visit.

I stayed here with friends and family for three nights. We got what we expected - a nice setting on the lake, peace and quiet, good meals and an unobtrusive staff. Nothing was excellent but most everything was very good. The seafood restaurant, the meandering pool, sunset cruise, lakeside complementary evening tea and the kids activities were the highlights. I lost my camera lens cover and they helped me look for it all over the grounds, to no avail. As we were leaving on the last day, a young gardener came running up to our car and handed it to me. This sort of service attention was consistent and yet subtle - I so prefer the genuine caring to the intruding bows and pleasantries. A worthwhile stop for anyone traveling in Kerala!

Checked in here on day 2 of honeymoon having spend earlier night at Zuri (see separate review) To sum up our experience here, answer in two words is "NOT IMPRESSED". When we entered KLR compounds, there was no wow factor as zuri. True you get more access to open lake but thats not everything. Front office staff werent overly friendly. Rooms were ok although there were loads of mosquitos even though there was repellent provided, no free wifi, had to wait around 45 minutes for our lunch. On a positive note, dinner was good & quick (as it was buffet self service)

If you are looking to get a feel of ancient kerala house structures, this will help you towards it but for the price I paid, its not worth it more than one night. Will I go again, regrettably its a NO

Went for a 4 night trip which included one night on the houseboat. Food was very good. When we were not satisfied with the vegetable preparations one day, the chef made a new dish just for us which was quite good.
We had taken a heritage villa with private pool. We were thoroughly dissatisfied with the pool since it was never clean enough. Dead insects and leaves floating around. A simple net as a roof would have solved most of the problems. Also lizards roaming around the open air shower area was not inviting at all. Pest control and nets required.
The houseboat experience was fine but we expected a lot more in terms of sightseeing and traveling. Out of 20-22 hours in the houseboat, only 5-6 hours was the running time. Rest of the time the boat was stationary which was a let down and not mentioned before.
But the service on the houseboat was excellent especially the dinner and the chef onboard.

Most amazing holiday for me - with my 72 year old mother and two year old daughter. From booking stage to checkout; and even after checkout the resort runs on 12 sigma. There was no room for disappointment. Service, Food, Ambience, Entertainment was impeccable. The checkin process is transparent, no hidden changes. They serve the most sumptuous meals in a beautiful restaurant. Mindblowing menu each day. Every evening there is a sunset cruise as well as a live cultural performance. Staff training is par excellence. Rooms are out of the world. We had a four hour wait before departure and my daughter had gone to sleep. The resort had prior bookings so we had to vacate the room. The General Manager saw us sitting in the lobby, he made a special arrangement for us to spend those few hours in the Presidential Suite - I was totally impressed and awed by the customer service and care! Big thanks to the staff and the GM:-) I would say definitely a paradise.

Room Tip: Definitely Meandering Pool Villas - awesome!

Overall, an unforgettable stay at this resort which is nothing short of 'divine'.

Booked in advance and everything was handled very well. We chose a villa with a private pool and did not regret it. Came with an open outdoor-ish shower as well.

What WoWed us - The feel and overall welcome at the resort upon reaching, authentic keralite architecture of the rooms, the room in itself, bedding's, private pool in our room, infinity pool overlooking the lake, friendly and helpful staff, the evening cruise and snacks & coffee at the traditional thattukada (set up every evening).

What could be better - The food. We chose to stick to the buffet - seemed a better option than the a la carte dishes we ordered - in terms of both taste and price.

We appreciated - The team addressing a couple of issues we faced and taking care of it for us promptly.

Will we go back - Of course and highly recommend for a one of a kind experience to all. Cannot express in words the luxury we soaked up while there. Worth every penny.
