We travelled to the Renaissance in March this year. Unfortunately the weather was not good, we had one day of sunshine and otherwise it was cold and wet. The hotel inside is lovely and the rooms are very comfortable. The balconies are much too small if you wanted to sit on a small plastic chair by yourself, then you would just fit.

The buffet was repetitive with all meals very much the same and no premium dishes whatsoever and the food was not of a high enough temperature, if not mostly cold. All the staff were excellent and friendly except for the show cooks who had a extremely bad attitude to delay the food and keep customers waiting purposely. Also there was no working toaster to cook your toast at breakfast time. The quality of the salads and cold food were excellent and there was always a fresh fish dish available. In a 5 star hotel you do not expect your morning coffee to be served in a mug with a wooden stick to stir it with.

The A la Carte's have excellent surroundings and the food is of high quality, but the food served, does not represent the description on the menu.

I feel that this hotel would be much more enjoyable when all the outdoor facilities are open during the summer. Previously to my visit I was not warned that none of the outdoor facilities would be available, the pools were full of green slime or drained and the beach had been arranged to arrive on lorries in two weeks time. This hotel is more suitable for business not holidays during low season.

My wife and I stayed at the Renaissance Antalya during a 2 week trip through the region and could not have been happier with our choice. The staff was very helpful, and got a kick out of teaching me to pronounce my limited Turkish vocabulary.

We arrived to an upgraded room due to Marriott status (hooray for business travel points) and an expansive estate to explore. Do not pay by the meal for food, the all inclusive is well worth the cost. The main dining area changes their menu daily and has both an indoor and outdoor seating area. Across from the outdoor seating area is the lounge/bar area with at least 2 dozen tables.

Staying in the hotel proper, the gym was large and had all equipment necessary for any weekend warrior attempting to work off the all inclusive food. There are a number of tour agents in the hotel, but they are not always available and specialize in larger groups. If you are a couple, exit the hotel and turn right. Across the road the first store you come upon does an excellent job. We booked paragliding and scuba diving through him and the tours were inexpensive and exactly as advertised.

When you leave the back of the hotel past the bar you will find an immaculately manicured grounds with paths meandering back to the beach. The beach bar turns into a "club" at night for the hotel guests and can be a great deal of fun with the right group. The food is also good during the day, eliminating the need to go to the hotel proper for lunch.

There are more than enough lounge chairs and hammocks throughout the beach and grounds, so there is no need to rush out at 6am to drape towels over your preferred chair. The pool is large and includes a swim up bar. The water slides are a great touch, the little kids (as well as the big kids) had a blast.

I would also recommend checking out the local water park, well worth a day trip if you have a day to spare.

In short, I heartily recommend the Renaissance for a stay in Antalya.

I spent a few days at the resort at the end of May and unfortunately the weather was not the best. Despite this we could still enjoy ourselves: have a splash in the indoor pool, use the sauna and the wonderful spa, eat in in many of the restaurants, play tennis or tabletennis. They even have a computer room with wii - great for children.

But the best thing above all was the service. You could see smiling and helpful employees all around you, joking and carefree, you could see they are enjoying their work. That really creates a relaxing athmosphere for a your holiday.

Room Tip: Only the very high floor rooms have a real seaview. Otherwise you cant see anything because of the t...

We visited this hotel in May 2012 on our honeymoon. My husband had previously emailed the hotel to let them know it was our honeymoon and on check-in we were allocated a lovely corner room with a super king-sized bed and windows all round with 2 small balconies. The room and bathroom were both very well appointed and we were very happy with them. A major disappointment however was the air-conditioning, or lack of it. This was not a fault with just our room however as we did not speak to anyone staying in the main part of the hotel that week who was satisfied with the cooling system. We had ours set to the coldest setting and maximum fan and it was still extremely hot in there. We were lucky that the weather was only mid 20s because I can imagine that in July and August this is a much bigger problem. Our Thomas Cook rep told us that the air-conditioning was turned off but despite several complaints by us and also by our rep it was not turned back on. This is a 5 star hotel and part of what we are paying for are air-conditioned rooms so we were saddened that our complaints about this were ignored. We were offered another room but we loved the one we had (apart from the air-con problem) and since everyone else seemed to have the same issue we did not want to move. As I said, we had a corner room and could open both patio doors to get a breeze moving through the room at night - the only issue with this was that we both got bitten by mosquitoes.
Food at the hotel was good in the buffet. Breakfast was a bit repetitive as was lunch but everything was very clean and of a high standard. We often had to wait for quite a while to get drinks served at lunchtime. This is probably because there is no-one showing you to a table so some areas ended up being much busier than others with not enough waiting staff. We ate at Seasons, Saffron, Lotus and Santa Fe a-la-cartes. They were all very good but I don't know what the extra €10 was for at the last two as they didn't seem any better than the others. The booking system is also a bit of a nuisance to organise.
The pool areas were immaculate and the pools beautifully clean. The ladies toilet at the main pool was disappointing in terms of cleanliness the first weekend we were there but this did improve. One thing that I didn't like was that the cleaner would go into the toilet cubicles and empty the bins in there with his bare hands - this does not strike me as hygenic at all.
We used the spa for a massage and that was wonderful but is a separate business from the hotel.
All in all we had a nice stay at this hotel but will not go back. At the end of our week we were ready to leave

Room Tip: Our corner room was very nice.

Just returned from our 6th stay at the Renaissance, every year we think it just can't get any better, but it does. We are 2 women travelling alone on our girlie week, which we have done together for many years now, and previously we have been to lots of other countries and hotels, and always said we would never go back to the same place twice until we came to the Paloma. Now we can't see ourselves ever going anywhere else, we feel completely at home and safe here, in fact we feel like part of the paloma family drung our entire stay, we are treated like Royalty from the time we arrive by all the staff, from the maids and gardeners to all the witers and waitresses, reception staff, cooking staff and Tom and Maria in customer services[ who did all they could to help us with anything we needed], nothing was too much trouble.
The quality and selection of food is amazing and if they don't have what you want, in our experience they will get it for you. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels twice a day.
The gardens are absolutely beautiful, with the gardeners taking such pride in what they do, they are so pleased when you tell them how lovely everythong looks.
Only arrived back yesterday and have already booked up for next May, can't wait, so look out Paloma the "girls" are coming back.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side of the hotel, look out onto the gardens, and you can also see the mountains and th...

Just returned from a very peaceful relaxed holiday. When we arrived we had been allocated a villa, which made the holiday all the more special, especially because it was our wedding anniversary.
The villas were lovley and spacious. The bed - WOW! I think it must have been a king size. I had the best few nights sleep that I have had in a LONG time... Rooms and towels were cleaned/changed daily, and the mini bar was restocked also (included in the all inclusive price). Other lovely touches included fruit on our arrival, a turn down service, and a flower display in our room on the first night.
The food in the buffet was as you would expect, the breakfast selection was fresh and delicious.
We ate in the Seasons restaurant a couple of times, the service was supberb as well as the food and wine. It was nice to see how informed the waiters were about the wine etc...
The chinese was also delicious, the restaurant is very stylish.

There were large french groups - I think a conference must have been taking place. Sometimes there was a tendancy to feel overpowered by them as they seemed to overtake everywhere!

On another note, we met some other great couples that were like minded and we had a good laugh.

I would come here again, I felt the most relaxed I had been in ages, and the service/staff and food was great.
