Beauregard is a nice hotel in Sevrier near Lake Annecy. The lake view rooms are fair priced for the area. It is best to have a car since the hotel is a few kilometers from Annecy. We have been going here for over 20 years and cannot find a better place. We do compare and look whenever we are there but haven't found anything better yet. Sevrier is not as pretty as Talloires or other towns around the lake but we find that the views are of the other beautiful areas. Better to be in the less expensive town looking at the expensive views. Beauregard has a very good restaurant as well. They rent bikes and are on the bike path which is being expanded almost every year. There is no swimming pool. I would rate the rooms as average. Beds are just Ok and rooms are not overly spacious but hey...it's France.

Room Tip: We usually try to get a room with a lake view. Forest view rooms look over the parking lot and the r...

The hotel is very dated but looked after and located in a lovely quiet area. The views from the lake facing side are amazing and definitely make up for the old feel of the hotel. There is a patio area but for whatever reason was closed, which is a shame, it could be an amazing spot for a lunch. The restaurant and bar in the hotel close pretty early so if you fancy doing something after 10pm you may struggle to find something around. The hotel is located about 20 minutes walk from Annency. The path goes by the lake so it's quite nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake facing room!

We had lunch at this hotel. The food was original and tasty. The service was average. For the decoration they have, you expect a better service to say the truth. The view is great. Not the best place for families with children. They have a great garden- I think it would be amazing if they can move some part of their restaurant to the outside.

Just 5 kilometers outside of Annecy, directly on the lakeside with only a bicycle path between the hotel gardens and the lakeshore.
We had a small room on the third floor roadside, rather noisy, there is a lot of traffic on the road, even at night. AC works very well, bed was ok.
There is a nice restaurant but we ate downtown. The terrace is very nice with lounge chairs, funky music and very comfortable.
Service of reception staff very friendly.
Sufficient parking around the hotel. Did not use the breakfast.

THE GOOD:
The patio/veranda overlooking the lake was very nice, facing east into the morning sun. You can have your choice of inside or outside depending on the weather. There is no argument that the view is top-notch.

The hotel, though a few kms from Annecy proper, backs onto the bike path that runs down the lakeside. If you choose, it's a pleasant way into town. However, the hotel is a little too far out of town to walk.

The bakery across the street had some very good croissants/baguette.

The room rates are pretty reasonable for the area (though I got charged an arm and a leg by a tour company for the Etape du Tour weekend.

THE NOT-SO-GOOD:
My room was hilariously small. The bathroom door could only open 30 degrees before hitting the bed (see photo). I was able to push the bed aside a bit to open it further, but I still nearly broke my nose on the towel hook trying to squeeze in. The only place for my bag was on the desk, and even that was too small (I had to balance the bag on the desk chair). Some of the other rooms were, apparently, not quite as dramatically small. To top it off, the room smelled of mould from the bathroom.

Two of the three front desk staff I encountered were not at all amiable. I would go so far as to say cranky and lacking any semblance of propriety or courtesy. (The bartender was sweet, but, unfortunately, I don't remember her name.)

The Wifi worked for 1 of 3 nights. The staff didn't seem to care when it was reported down.

Despite a beautiful setting, the breakfast was lackluster. Bad coffee should be a crime in France.

SUMMARY:
Would not go back, no question. It would be hard to do worse.

Room Tip: Whatever you do, make sure you are not on the 4th floor, especially if you have heavy bags. The sma...

This was our second stay at Lake Annecy. Without doubt the reason for our return was the view which is sensational. The hotel is located right on Lake Annecy and about 5 minutes from Annecy itself so very well positioned to explore the region. Breakfast is adequate and the evening meal was also good value and the staff were great and good fun. The dining room also has great views over the lake. The terrace was also great for a late afternoon or pre dinner drink Our room was on the top floor (5th) with a lake view however the lift only goes as far as the 4th floor. Our room was small with sloping ceilings which for tall people are a drawback especially in the bathroom. My brother who was travelling with us found a number of spiders in the room. The view and location for us balanced out any negatives.

Room Tip: Would recommend a lake view room but not on level 5.

Lets start with the few good things.....ok, two good things.
1. The view over the lake is great.
2. The diner menu of 3 courses for €26 is pretty good.
Bad things, to many to mention but here's a couple.
1. The room was to small.
2. The bathroom door wouldn't lock shut
3. The curtains wouldn't close all the way and as it faces east the sun comes in of the morning and wakes you up.
4. The room seriously needs updating.
5. The hand held shower didn't have a railing so showers were quick and hard to actually wash yourself.
6. Cupboard doors falling off.
7. 4km from Annecy not 2km.
Need I go on?
Even at €90 a night, plus €11 per person for an over rated breakfast it is to expensive.
Find somewhere else to stay.
