Certainly this is among the best meals we have had in France. Yes we did have to order our desserts at the start of the meal, as complained of by another reviewer, but to create such culinary masterpieces takes time, and avoids a large wait, so that their preparation could commence as we started our main course, and not when we finished it. This restaurant takes its food very seriously! Local olives, brochettes of prawns, superb steak with an interesting and flavoursome collection of fresh vegetables, followed by macaroons with three flavours of home-made ice cream, were all superb. The service was friendly yet professional, the ambience created in this old farmhouse with its vaulted ceiling was warm and inviting. It was a truly memorable evening.

Our group of ten scheduled a dinner at La Fleur de Thym on the last evening of our holiday week in Provence. Based on reviews, we expected a spectacular meal and we were not disappointed. Ours was a group of foodies and we were not disappointed. The presentation was memorable and the quality of food outstanding. The waitstaff was very attentive and not deprecating of our less than stellar French. The setting was pleasant....we were seated in the back room and thus a bit removed from the action in the main room. Good wine list. The meal was not inexpensive but worth every euro. Reservations definitely essential.

We love this restaurant! We first dined here in 2009, soon after Le Fleur de Thym had opened. Back then it consisted of one room with about 8 tables and few patrons – but excellent food. Things have changed over four years. The restaurant is full every night, so be sure to book in advance and, although a second dining room has been added, patrons may find themselves without a table unless they have reserved. The owners have transformed the space from pleasant but minimally decorated to casually elegant with a warm ambience. Service has continued to improve and has become more polished and engaging. The cuisine benefits from top-quality ingredients artfully prepared. There are always two prix fixe menus (22 and 33 Euros), with two choices for each course. One can also order any of the items a la carte. There is a good selection of wines, including many delicious regional wines. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching this restaurant grow and prosper over the years, and make Fleur de Thym the one restaurant that we always visit twice during our stays in the area.

I did start by rating our meal as average, but on reflection, perhaps a little harshly, I have gone down to poor. Our impression was that they regarded themslves to be rather higher up the scale of gastronomy than the meal itself!
The welcome was fine, but we do not expect to be asked to choose dessert up front as well, and then be scowled at when we expressed difficulty in doing so.
I chose the lower priced menu, and my partner the higher price. The lower price menu was absolutely fine, I had no problems with this, but the higher price menu was poor across all three dishes, and not good value. It should have been me to rue my cheaper choice, not my partner jealous of my cheaper choice!
As we left the place (no tip) we walked off into the rainy evening uninspired, whilst we heard others extolling the magnificence of the food.....hmmm, we are all entitled to a view are we not!!
