“A great hotel if you dont like crowds”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

This hotel is set on a cliff with a beautiful view of the sea and buildings all around. Normally when we go on an all inclusive tour in Margarita, it is in a hotel set apart with lots of land space.
This one was different, there was hardly any space, just enough for a small pool.
The dining room and the bar was in bad shape, the chairs were wrought iron with a pad that kept falling off. That place was built probably in the siixties and was never upgraded.
The food was good and the staff friendly, but no english.
The good thing was that we didnt have to wait for food or drink because there were so few guests.
In the evenings they played music and a movie on the wall.
The hotel itself was in good condition.the pool, bar and dining room seemed to be an after thought.
There was wifi in the lobby and it worked well. Communication was difficult, we had to look up what we wanted to say on our tablet.
The room was comfortable and towels were changed daily.
We were given a bottle of water and told we had to buy the rest.
We went out two days , this was good because there is nothing to do at this hotel.
It was a different experience but i wont be going there again.

Room Tip: choose a room with a sea view

For the money I still cant understand why I payed 2 dollars for a bag of ice.The excuse I received was ," people put things in the ice machine". Really? The room was substandard. Tin foil burner plates, cracked tile, mold, cigarette buts on the balcony. The pullout couch was stained and torn.Stains on the kitchenette set.Bare minimum utensils. Disinterested, discourteous and unkempt staff. The elevator had ZERO ventilation,if you were to get stuck in there you would suffocate. This establishment is in total disrepair and mismanaged. Its an over priced flop house. The only thing going for them is location, but so does the 7- 11 up the street. We wont be back.

Room Tip: find a different place to stay.

Excellent hotel for friendly and highly accommodating staff, reasonable food, good alcohol and great fun. Situated on a cliff overlooking the turquoise caribbean sea and Playa Juventud fronted by bars that attract quite a youthful and spicy crowd. Hotel is away from hustle and bustle of Porlamar yet within the reach of taxis and for those who dare rustic excitement, public transport!!!! The Barmen are crazy and fun to hang out with (Jose Malave, Jose Velasquez [Papo]). Floor staff at the restaurant always wore a warm smile. You cannot help but leave a handsome tip for them. Ms. Elisa Aponte, Manager was most instrumental in making my usual stay an enjoyable one. She ensured that her guests were very well taken care of in and out of the Hotel. She was very reliable and friendly and made a huge difference especially with her excellent command of English and the knowledge of the hotel industry and her good reputation both in Trinidad and Margarita. Because of her I will always go back to this Hotel. Take lots of sunscreen, drink lots of water, take chili sauce for semi-bland food, carry deodorant if your armpit stinks, camera with lots of storage, Spanish dictionary, spare cash for shopping and an open mind to enjoy what Margarita has to offer. Whatever happens in Margarita stays in Margarita.

If you're looking for a good vacation with a budget then this is the place for you. The service is great and the food was pretty tasty compared to other food on the island.
The view from the hotel was spectacular. The pool was always warm and inviting.
Personalized attention was given to us that was very much appreciated. Eliza was very pleasant and being one of the few employees who knew English made her quite helpful. She checked on us daily to make sure we were well taken care of.
Don't expect to have a luxurious vacation but you can certainly expect a comfortable, relaxed and peaceful trip.

I'd love to give this hotel a higher rating, but the truth is that it was empty, like everywhere else on Margarita (save for El Yaque). So I can't say Very Good, as I wouldn't advise anyone going to Pampatar/Porlamar. But the staff were lovely, food was good and we had a great time...it felt like having a private pool and a private bar with staff there just to make cocktails! The pool was gorgeous although I didn't master the Zorb thing in it. The rooms were fine - big with stunning views of the sea.

This resort was quite nice besides the occasional power outage which causes the elevators to get stuck....food was okay....pool and activities were fine...the walk to the beach is a pain...but worth it once you find an area you can enter into the ocean without cutting your feet on the coral. beautiful and breathtaking views especially during sunset and sunrise. rooms are okay...nothing special. like a motel not a hotel standard. dont forget to pack sunscreen and aloe. also don't leave valuables alone...get a safe!
