Worth the drive, (we were staying in Noosa Heads and had a rental car) you simply MUST have a meal here. And give yourself plenty of time to linger and enjoy the relaxing setting. This is not a meal you want to rush through.
The setting is so peaceful and beautiful.
We could not get a reservation for dinner so four of us had lunch. And what a lunch!
We dined outside, as the water dragons crawled near our feet hoping for hand outs. (If you are squeamish about this, I think you'd better pass.) But they will leave you alone if you ignore them. (And DO NOT feed them) It started to rain mid meal, but this just added to the atmosphere.
We ordered (and shared):
-Penang curry of Duck confit with pickled ginger and crispy lime leaves
-Whole snapper (looks terrifying, tastes AMAZING)
-Coconut prawn Lon with rice crusted fish fillets and green mango (really interesting)
-Crispy pork belly with citrus caramel sauce (We normally do not eat red meat but our friends ordered this and we had to taste it. It was incredible. It looks like a dessert. See our photos.)
-Banana creme brûlée with caramel peanut popcorn and chocolate vanilla sauce
Every mouthful was a burst of unusual flavors, the perfect balance of salty, sweet, crispy, creamy...seriously. Unbelieveable.
Wait staff is wonderful, of course.
Please put this incredible place on your itinerary when you visit the area.
