Big shop, more shops inside. Train rides for kids. Little tours for which you pay extra.

It's like a Ginger Theme Park. Not my cup of tea, but great for kids and families, I suppose.

Had a ginger ice cream at Bliss. It was good.

Nut Factory across the road was closed due to fire. Did not visit that.

We visit the Ginger Factory often (locals) and we love it when we have to wait to enter as the train passes the entrance. This time we went as Jungle George and the Golden Ginger, Free show was on for the school holidays (great show). The kids love the new playground and I think it was well thought out as little toddlers have a separate area, very safe. We always ride the train and sometimes the overboard boats which is reasonably priced. An ice cream is also our favourite thing to do, while sitting in the garden area. The cottage shops are wonderful, gift shop has a variety to look at, smell and buy. We always leave feeling happy as you don't have to spend alot to have a great time.

If you like ginger, the spice, NOT Gilligan's castaway shipmate, then you'll LOVE visiting the Ginger Factory! I was visiting with family and only had an hour, or so, here. When we got out of our car in the parking lot, you could actually SMELL the ginger in the air! After taking the necessary (yes, I'm a tourist) photos at the entrance overhead sign, we took the train ride around the property and listened to a recorded narrative on the history of ginger in Australia and the train's contribution. The engineer was tossing out some small feed as we were rounding one corner and water hens (?) and a chubby, feather-full rooster type bird chased after the locomotive. It was very entertaining. The different little shops are clean and well kept and offer unique gift ideas. There is a cafe and a gift shop with all things ginger as well as honey items. The grounds are very green and lovely with water features and gardens. I understand that there are a couple of attractions geared toward children (Gingerbread Man themed) but I don't have any details on that as my 3 month old granddaughter was too young. However, she DID get a stuffed Gingerbread man doll as a souvenir. When she's older, I'm sure she'll be returning. Entrance to the Factory is free. There is a charge for the train ride.

We are locals and go regularly to the ginger factory. Our 2 children aged 2.5 and 1 really enjoy it and it's always a fun morning out. The train ride is lovely and the overboard ride is lots of fun with plenty to look at. There is a great enclosed playground right near the coffee shop which suits all ages (it has a separate area for younger children).

The coffee shop does lovely coffee and the best ginger scones and is reasonably priced for a tourist location. All staff members throughout the factory are always friendly and helpful.

The garden walk is also lovely and there are so many beautiful flowers and plants to look at. Easy to push a pram around with well maintained pathways.

There is plenty of parking available. The ginger factory is well worth a visit whether you are a local or a visitor, especially with kids.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Ginger Factory. Best of all was the idyllic and extensive subtropical garden that features lots of species of ginger - some very spectacular (especially if in flower). The busy shop sells a variety of interesting souvenirs and foodstuffs, including different types of honey and many ginger products we hadn't seen elsewhere. There were several other tourist shops on the site that were much quieter.
Didn't eat in the cafe but had coffee and then an ice-cream as we walked the garden. Excellent
Nor did we ride the train around the grounds (or take the boat) or take the tour of the factory. Saving that for next time.
